Primex Aerospace was the aerospace and electronics division of Primex Technologies, Inc. (Primex). It designed, developed and manufactured space, electronic, and solid propellant products. Primex began business as a separate entity on 1997-01-01 as a spin out of Olin Corporation.[1] Primex Aerospace currently operates as a business unit of Aerojet.

Redmond location[edit]

The headquarters of Primex Aerospace was in Redmond, WA.[2] This location has historically been called the "Redmond Rocket Center".[3]

Acquisition by General Dynamics[edit]

General Dynamics agreed to buy Primex on 2000-10-09.[4]

Acquisition by Aerojet[edit]

On 2002-08-26, GenCorp announced its Aerojet-General subsidiary had acquired the "Ordnance and Tactical Systems Space Propulsion and Fire Suppression" business of General Dynamics. This included the principal assets associated with Primex.[citation needed].
