Desairology is the term describing the performance of various phases of cosmetology providing highly specialized techniques for preparation of the hair of deceased individuals in a funeral home prep room. This sometimes may include skin, nails and non-cosmetic items (i.e. proper placement of eyeglasses and jewelry) rendering related assistance to the practitioners. This specialty is provided by a registered Desairologist who is licensed in cosmetology. It is performed in the funeral home preparation room under state law and strict regulations.

History: In 1980 the first printing of "Desairology - The Dressing of Decedent's Hair", which was an instructional textbook, became available. Subsequent printings titled "Desairology - Cosmetologist & Barber Stylist Funeral Caregiving included a Foreword by Honorable John B. Anderson, presidential candidate. Proposed deletion of Desairology

The article Desairology has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. The first article was deleted because it was nothing suitable for Wikipedia and the second one was because it had been listed for deletion once before and it was closed as Delete. You would have to show the subject is now finally notable. Finally, the Draft above was not accepted because it's nothing to suggest its own notable article, list additional news sources and information actually about it to suggest it's known and can be made into an article.
