Problem?

Hi Carl, thank you for your message. However, it’s unclear as to how my edit was unconsrtuctive, and I was hoping you could explain so I can avoid similar mistakes in the future. 67.142.203.142 (talk) 02:07, 2 January 2020 (UTC)

Per Bluejay14's revert that's clear. There is no evidence of the user "Tim Hardcastle", which is not registered. Carl Tristan Orense 02:12, 2 January 2020 (UTC)

Vandalism?

Could you please explain how this was vandalism?

Yes, that IP range's user has no clue what's going on, is engaging in kinda fringe (or at least POV) original research, and is bordering on edit warring. But I'm not seeing where anyone has explained things to them, and when they tried to ask for a reason, you reverted it and gave them a final warning?

Is there a related account or IP range that I'm missing? Ian.thomson (talk) 02:54, 3 January 2020 (UTC)

I think this post is placed on the top without the section, it is vandalism. Carl Tristan Orense 02:55, 3 January 2020 (UTC)

Wowowin

Stop updating the episode count 1 week in advance. You are obviously not from the future to be doing that.TheHotwiki (talk) 23:56, 20 January 2020 (UTC)

Hi Carl Tristan Orense! I've been running into you while patrolling logs and recent changes and I happened to notice that you don't have the pending changes reviewer user rights. I hope you don't mind, but I went through your contributions and I noticed that you're quite active in recent changes patrolling and that you consistently view and undo vandalism and bad faith disruption. I believe that the pending changes reviewer rights would be useful for you to have and that you'd make good use of the tool. Instead of having you formally request the pending changes reviewer right at WP:PERM, I went ahead and just gave it to you. This user right allows you to review edits that are pending approval on pages currently under pending changes protection and either accept the edits to make them viewable by the general public, or decline and revert them.

Keep these things in mind regarding the tool or when you're reviewing any pending changes:

  • A list of articles with pending edits awaiting review can be viewed at Special:PendingChanges.
  • A list of the articles currently under pending changes protection can be viewed at Special:StablePages.
  • Being granted and having these rights does not grant you any additional "status" on Wikipedia, nor does it change how Wikipedia policies apply to you (obviously).
  • You'll generally want to accept any pending changes that appear to be legitimate edits and are not blatant vandalism or disruption, and reject edits that are problematic or that you wouldn't accept yourself.
  • Never accept any pending changes that contain obvious and clear vandalism, blatant neutral point of view issues, copyright violations, or BLP violations.

Useful guidelines and pages for you to read:

I'm sure you'll do fine with the reviewer rights - it's a pretty straight-forward tool and it doesn't drastically change the interface that you're used to already. Nonetheless, please don't hesitate to leave me a message on my user talk page if you run into any questions, get stuck anywhere, or if you're not sure if you should accept or revert pending changes to a page, and I'll be more than be happy to help you. If you no longer want the pending changes reviewer rights, let me know and I'll be happy to remove it for you. Thank you for helping to patrol recent changes and keep Wikipedia free of disruption and vandalism - it's a very thankless job to perform and I want you to know that it doesn't go unnoticed and that I appreciate it very much. Happy editing! :-D ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 06:18, 21 January 2020 (UTC)

Editing.

I don't know if my information is wrong or right, since you said it was wrong. I looked up numerous reviews, positive it was. Percy Jackson's movie had negative reviews, while mostly all reviews for Pirates of the Caribbean were positive. If I overlooked something, please tell me, or change it back. I hope I made it clear I'm sorry. Thank you. Denketchler (talk) 08:59, 16 September 2020 (UTC)

Mixed is actually sourced, like Pirates 2, recieved mixed reviews, as sourced. Chompy Ace 22:38, 16 September 2020 (UTC)

Your edit summaries

Just wanted to let you know, I've seen many of your edit fixing links and such at Avengers: Infinity War, and you include external links or internal Wikipedia links in the summary that aren't really relevant to what you're changing. Per WP:SUMMARYNO, you shouldn't really be doing that as that's not what the summaries are for. Stick to what you're adding/changing/what have you, and avoid the "extra stuff". - Favre1fan93 (talk) 15:03, 10 October 2020 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Thor: Ragnarok, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Polynesian. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2020 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 02:52, 24 November 2020 (UTC)

Avengers: Infinity War note

Hi there. Quick question: Why have you added this hidden text to the note? I don't take issue with the addition per se, but I am wary that it might cause confusion (like it is for me). ---- JascaDucato (talk | contributions) 12:11, 26 November 2020 (UTC)

That is used as the continuation of Thor: Ragnarok, not just the entire film. The mid-credits scene is shown in Ragnarok and continues in Infinity War. (Example as clarity: Special:Diff/968778113) Chompy Ace 23:48, 26 November 2020 (UTC)

I'm sorry, even your response here is confusing me. I'm afraid I'm goingt to have to remove the hidden message in the note as it is overcomplicating matters. ---- JascaDucato (talk | contributions) 01:59, 27 November 2020 (UTC)

What the heck does your edit summary mean?

You edited Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales and left the following edit summary (→‎Plot: removed all complex words (via https://scontent.fmnl17-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t31.0-8/fr/cp0/e15/q65/26198276_1772316872819114_423867392417736448_o.jpg?_nc_cat=100&ccb=2&_nc_sid=e007fa&_nc_ohc=yZYdGrhRwxwAX_WlofW&_nc_ht=scontent.fmnl17-1.fna&tp=14&oh=7f7f1b1fe65af6f6862bbc10c8802be6&oe=5FED0D57)) the "removed all complex words" is hyperlinked to 2018 GMA New Year Countdown: Buong Puso Para sa Kapuso which then redirects to List of GMA Network specials aired#New Year specials. So. I am asking...what in the world does all that mean? Shearonink (talk) 05:24, 1 December 2020 (UTC)

I noticed a couple of things about your contributions on this particular page:

  • you are editing this GA Review but not signing your posts
  • I'm pretty sure there is only supposed to be one Reviewer at a time doing a GA Review. By not signing your posts you are, in effect, co-mingling your contributions with another editor's contributions. Perhaps I missed it but I don't see a call for a 2nd opinion or a notice that another Reviewer is taking over the Review or whatever?...

Would like some clarification please. Thanks, Shearonink (talk)

Done signing posts, and i was helping to improve the article Robin Hood (2010 film) with User:Rusted AutoParts. Chompy Ace 06:32, 1 December 2020 (UTC)

Ah ok...couldn't tell if you were reviewing /or/ improving the article. Shearonink (talk) 06:37, 1 December 2020 (UTC)

Confusion about some edit summaries

Hi, I've noticed several of your recent edit summaries contain links to seemingly unrelated pages and I was just wondering if there was an explanation for that? Some of the links have left me extremely confused and curious so I figured there was no harm in asking! - Purplewowies (talk) 03:46, 11 December 2020 (UTC)

A barnstar for you!

December 2020 plot summary edits

Hi Chompy Ace, what on Earth was going on with this series of edits? For example the perfectly ordinary and not broken: "...Builders, who are unimpressed with Emmet and refuse to fight Business," you broke four times:

"...Builders, unimpress at Emmet and refuse to fight Business
"...Builders, who cause unimpression to Emmet and refusal to fight Business
"...Builders, who cause unimpression with Emmet and refusal to fight Business"
"...Builders, who cause unimpressiveness with Emmet and refusal to fight Business"

...all of which are manifestly incorrect at a glance. Your strengths may lie in other areas but, if this is representative, writing prose for Wikipedia is not the best use of your skills.. Captainllama (talk) 21:17, 18 December 2020 (UTC)

P.S. Incidentally, you have put the "Semi-Retired" notice here on your page on 30 November, yet have made over 2000 edits since - a similar rate to the previous month and an increase on the previous year. Although there are no rules about what level of editing constitutes semi-retirement I am confident it is not an appropriate claim for an editor who is more active than they were before.
