We don't stylize song titles

[edit]

Regarding your creation of this article, we would not stylize the article title like that anyway per MOS:CT and MOS:CAPS. Also, I think you know there was nothing located at So High School, so you should have at least requested a move of So High School (song) at WP:RM/TR, even though this song isn't particularly notable on its own yet, so don't be surprised if another Taylor Swift-focused editor comes along and redirects it. Thank you. Ss112 04:55, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Ss112 If you looked into the article history, I was in the midst of developing. I don't have another set of arms to complete two tasks at the same time. Thanks for completing the move Dora the Axe-plorer (explore) 05:05, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You don't need "another set of arms". Fair enough that you may have been in the process of developing the article, but after creating an article, it would have taken a matter of seconds to pull up another tab (which every modern Internet browser is capable of doing) and navigate to WP:RM/TR to request it be moved. In case you're in the process of making them, not every one of Swift's album tracks needs an article—Ippantekina and another user redirected several you created the other day. All that being said, this isn't to say that you wouldn't have requested the move. But in case you weren't going to, this is also for future reference. Ss112 14:38, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Good for you making the move before I had the chance because I was doing something else even though it would've taken me a matter of seconds. Wonderful
Sincerely, an editor who's quite familiar with RM/TR but was in the midst of developing content and found the bit about tabs a poor attempt at humor Dora the Axe-plorer (explore) 14:34, 3 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

1974 Dunedin earthquake

[edit]

Hi I've been working on a draft (still a long way from finishing) for the Draft:1974 Dunedin earthquake. After a bit of work I started to question its notability, and now I to think it falls short. The reason I'm asking for your help is because I want to avoid having all time wasted.

Do you agree with my assessment that the earthquake is not notable? To sum it up, it had a VIII/VII intensity, it was only magnitude 4.9 but caused NZ$3.5 million in damages (a source says this is "extraordinarily large" for this magnitude), which was mostly minor. There were no reported casualties. The region is seismically inactive, with this earthquake being the largest since European settlement and the first to cause widespread damage. The earthquake is still occasionally covered in media, but this is regional. I have found some scientific coverage, but unfortunately it is not much. Am I right in that it is not notable?

I was thinking that if the earthquake is not notable, a way to save my work would be to create (or add to) a list article, but I can't find any earthquake lists on Wikipedia that go beyond tables. Do you have any ideas? Thanks for the help on the 2009 Dusky Sound earthquake, by the way. ―Panamitsu (talk) 10:16, 14 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You may be able to add this section of content under the history header of Dunedin, or create a new header for Geology and include this event inside (then you'll have to create content for the city's geological history otherwise this header won't work). It just a mistake that i made

[edit]

Hello, it's me, Bakhos. Five days ago, I edited the "2024 southern Peru earthquake" page, mistakenly switching VI (Strong) to VIII (Severe) in the "Earthquake" section. I thought it was VIII (Severe), but it’s actually VI (Strong). I didn't hijack it, it was just a mistake that I made. By the way, please don’t make fun of me. You said "whoever you are" because I might have minor depression, which makes it hard for me to talk to people, but sometimes. I worry that someone might make fun of me for no reason. Bakhos2010 (talk) 16:02, 3 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Bakhos2010, this edit falls under WP:HIJACK (content was altered without introducing a new source, regardless of the context). At the time of my edit, I didn't bother to look through the history list to find the editors who did that (there were a few), but the MMI was altered several times prior. It wasn't meant to be a personal attack at you, rather, a message to editors, specifically those who have or intend to change the MMI, to introduce new references if altering a cited paragraph. "Whoever you are" was intended for all editors, IP or registered, not for one specific editor per above. In no way did I meant to upset you, and I hope you receive the help you need for what you're going through. All the best. Dora the Axe-plorer (explore) 17:02, 3 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I've seen you made and expanding an article for TTPD track "The Black Dog", which I also made a draft for it a few months ago and is still expanding. Can we perhaps work together and combine the article to the draft? The draft is only a mile away left for AFC and it just needs more expansion and fleshing out. Gained (talk) 11:05, 4 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Gained! I noticed the draft has substantially improved since my last visit yesterday just before I hit "Publish". I began working on a separate TBG draft on July 20, and at the time, yours was partially done. Now that the article is in the mainspace it may be a challenge to request a deletion so your draft can override it, but you could give it a shot. If you transferred the contents of your draft, that's probably a quicker way around, and you retain a percentage of authorship. Do you have a specific proposal? Dora the Axe-plorer (explore) 11:21, 4 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I was thinking of converting the article into a redirect and adding the contents of it into the draft, but transferring the draft's content into the article may also suffice. I'm more inclined for the former, what do you think? Gained (talk) 11:49, 4 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm ok with a copy + paste replacement with your draft content if that's what you mean Dora the Axe-plorer (explore) 11:59, 4 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sure! I'm going to do the process now. Gained (talk) 12:29, 4 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
