Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of name and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions other than promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Bbb23 (talk) 15:44, 17 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I would like to appeal the block that has been placed on this account. I now understand that the username was not acceptable, as it was precisely the name of a company, and therefore I would like to humbly request it to be changed to the new one I provided here. I would also like to note that when I created the page regarding the public figure, restauranteur Simon Kim, I did declare that I was close to the subject. I truly believed that declaring this was offering the necessary amount of transparency required. It was not at all my intent to hide the connection. Additionally, I read the guidelines pertaining to adding information or articles that are about people and companies, and therefore refrained from gratuitous, subjective information and used many notable sources including external references that are reliable and verifiable and applicable internal wiki links to enhance and foster the community. I probably added an excessive amount of links, but this shows how conscientious I was attempting to be, so as to back up each detail with a notable and reliable source. However, I now understand that some of the copy that I submitted was too promotional, too hype, so I would be deleting those sentences in a resubmission. Also, I would gladly contribute to the amazing creation that is Wikipedia by looking over and adding to other pages.

Keep in mind that I'm not guaranteeing each source here will be usable to justify claims of notability for Mr. Kim.

There you go, good luck. DS (talk) 17:52, 17 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
