Current Tour Leaders

Hi Eddie, No problem about the misunderstanding about Golf in 2008. As for creating a template box, I don't know how to do it, but I was thinking you could do something sort of like the template that exists for current top-10 ranked players. You can see it at the bottom of Tiger Woods. It's updated every week and placed on the bottom of the pages for each the current top 10 ranked players. There is a separate one for the top 10 ranked women's players and top 10 ranked men's players. See Lorena Ochoa for the women's rankings box, which is essentially the same. A box like this with all the major tours, mens and womens, and the current number ones on all the tours would be kind of cool I think. Unfortunately I don't know how to make these, but you might be able to figure it out by copying the code from a similar template or asking the person who made these. --Crunch (talk) 18:12, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

I posted my version on the page. michfan2123 (talk) 21:53, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

The PGA Tour is the best tour in the world so I put it first. Money list correlates with FedEx Cup points pretty well. michfan2123 (talk) 19:14, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

No flags. Templates usually do not have flags. michfan2123 (talk) 16:08, 26 January 2008 (UTC)

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of 2008 WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.ticketfinder.com/blog/index.php/2007/wgc-accenture-match-play-championship-golf-tickets. Eamon Dunphy

Hi! Thank you for correcting his name, it was driving me bonkers. I was begining to think that all my Dad's old Millwall progs had got his name wrong! Cheers, 'Arry Boy (talk) 19:41, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

Bryan Robson

I think that would be a good idea. Go ahead. – PeeJay 18:46, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi Eddie. I appreciate your changes to the table in the aforementioned article, but the sheer amount of formatting required to make the tables/grid the way you've done it takes the page way over the advised 32kb size limit (and if all three divisions were added, it would be almost 150kb).

In addition, especially for the results grid, the alternative format is very complicated, and is virtually impossible to fill in for the uninitiated; the current format is just easy. I think the colouring in the grid makes it too busy as well.

Meringues into a black hole...

Good effort, but it seems unlikely the anon will come back on the same IP address. I'm hoping to catch him/her/it in the middle of a spree next time, which is probably the only time they'll spot a message on their talk page. 4u1e (talk) 17:03, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

I can't believe that! Have a look at my my edit history - I reverted all 100 or so pages just this morning with a clear message requesting dialog before reinstatement. AlexJ (talk) 17:11, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

Timelines

I don't think so. You don't have to do that though. We could just add the timeline to those who are playing in the Masters and add it for others when they play in a major this year. michfan2123 (talk) 22:05, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

You have to update the best finish area in the infobox when you update the timelines. I covered it this time but remember to do it next time. michfan2123 (talk) 22:59, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

Re: Oxford United

Hi.

Yeah I'm up for that. I've already started on the Kassam Stadium article which needs a good sort out. TwentiethApril1986 (talk) 20:55, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

Hi thanks for taking part in the peer review. I have been trying to find out how to sort out the link in the article but cannot seem to fix it so it goes to the article to back up the statement. Is it possible you could try and fix the link as this article is the first I have ever added refs to etc. Thanks.

p.s. How close do you think the article is to GA. 02blythed (talk) 09:56, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

Manager list sources

Hi, What I'd do is:- obviously use your book source up to where it runs out. I'm assuming you're including stats from all competitions from the book(?). Then use Rage Online for an indication of what comps Oxford were in, and check through the Soccerbase results pages to find out what you're missing. Keep Soccerbase as your main source, because it's (mostly) trustworthy for what it includes and has a reputation for reliability. The English Football Archive has dates/scores for most competitions both major and minor. There probably isn't all that much to be added on, just footnote any managers where you've added stuff from the additional source. Hope this helps, any problems please ask again. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 19:06, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

Hi. I've added a sentence at the top of your table to outline the sources (similar to what I did on List of Birmingham City F.C. managers#Managers), added the Soccerbase manager history and the EFArchive to the References section, and lost your Footnotes section. If you don't like that layout then please change it, no offence will be taken :) Also I've gone through your cite-newses and changed to cite-webs those that aren't news sources.
Think you might have inadvertently added Horton's losses in the Full Members Cup to the draws column?
Oxford were also in the Anglo-Italian Cup, which EFArchive has here for 92/3 and here for 93/4. 4 defeats in group stages, which appear to allocate 2 for Horton (92/3), and the other two rather messily into 1 for Evans(caretaker) and 1 to Smith. When you've finished adding stuff in, remember to adjust the totals row as well.
The other thing is, are you sure that Harry Thompson's draws and losses figures are the right way round? It'd be pretty unusual to have such a high proportion of drawn games, and the FCHD page would indicate that at least for league games there are many fewer draws than wins or losses. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 10:02, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
Nearly there. I've added refs for the Anglo-Italian. Are you sure your Complete Record book doesn't give any indication of whether there was a caretaker between Thompson and Turner, or if there was a committee, or whatever? cheers, Struway2 (talk) 13:20, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

  3. In this area, for next season's Premier League news, you insert "2008-09 FA Premier League: [Insert Title]."
  4. For match reports, you will see along the right-side, "start a new match report."
  5. For next season's Premier Laeague match reports, you enter in the space provide. "2008/09 FA Premier League: [Insert Home Team] vs. [Insert Away Team]"

The main rules are

Mickey Lewis league stats

Hi, I was wondering if you could re-check your original source for Mickey Lewis's league stats - you put 300 apps for Oxford but the Neil Brown site has 305. Cheers. --Jameboy (talk) 12:43, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

Oxford United F.C. seasons

Hi

Where did you get the info for seasons going back to 1931?

--TwentiethApril1986 (talk) 18:56, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

They are from all completions in that season. The only way to work out how many the player scored in just the league would be to go through the list and exclude goals scored outside the league. That could take a long time... Also the attendance averages are from all completions. Might be worth adding a note to the table to point this out? --TwentiethApril1986 19:05, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

Welsh Premier League 2008-09

Thank you on setting up the 2008/09 season of the Welsh Premier League :-)

I had trouble during the 2007/08 season as non members of Wikipedia would go on it and put predicted scores when the games had not even been played. I would have made the 2008/09 season next month but I'm most grateful that you have saved me the trouble. :-)

Onshore —Preceding comment was added at 20:13, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

Thanks, hopefully you won't have any problems. By the way I found the official website to have the wrong results in the 2007/08 season. So I used http://www.welsh-premier.com/ and I found the BBC Sport website being upto date aswell. I just thought I'd mention this incase you wanted to confirm the correct results, but I know that you'll do fine. Keep up the good work :-) Onshore

Re: SJFA

Hey there. It's mainly bringing the teams in each division up-to-date as of the end of last season (i.e., promoted and relegated teams). I've done most of the West Region (but I still need to double-check it). The majority of the information needed can be found here. - Dudesleeper / Talk 00:19, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

Never have I been so glad to see my watchlist so clogged up. :-) Many thanks for your input thus far; hope it isn't too much of a pain in the rear. - Dudesleeper / Talk 21:00, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

Hi there. I noticed from the list of participants at WP:FOOTY that you are a Manchester United fan. A task force has been set up to help improve articles related to Manchester United, and we are looking for participants to help with the effort. If you would be interested, please add your name to the list at the task force's page. Thanks. – PeeJay 10:30, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

Wondering about a change

Hey. I noticed you've made some edits to The Football League 2007-08 and the current season article so I was wondering if you would take a look at this and see what you think of it? I'm just looking for thoughts at the moment, it's not a full-fledged proposition for change, but anything you add to the discussion would be great - even if it's just saying whether you like the idea or disagree with it. Thanks. Falastur2 Talk 22:55, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

Oxford Wikimania 2010 and Wikimedia UK v2.0 Notice

Hi,

As a regularly contributing UK Wikipedian, we were wondering if you wanted to contribute to the Oxford bid to host the 2010 Wikimania conference. Please see here for details of how to get involved, we need all the help we can get if we are to put in a compelling bid.

We are also in the process of forming a new UK Wikimedia chapter to replace the soon to be folded old one. If you are interested in helping shape our plans, showing your support or becoming a future member or board member, please head over to the Wikimedia UK v2.0 page and let us know. We plan on holding an election in the next month to find the initial board, who will oversee the process of founding the company and accepting membership applications. They will then call an AGM to formally elect a new board who after obtaining charitable status will start the fund raising, promotion and active support for the UK Wikimedian community for which the chapter is being founded.

You may also wish to attend the next London meet-up at which both of these issues will be discussed. If you can't attend this meetup, you may want to watch Wikipedia:Meetup, for updates on future meets.

We look forward to hearing from you soon, and we send our apologies for this automated intrusion onto your talk page!

Template:Infobox Former Golf Tournament has been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the template's entry on the Templates for Deletion page. Thank you.

Essentially, I have reworked Template:Infobox Golf Tournament so it now covers defunct events, so the former events template you created is now redundant. Regards. bigissue (talk) 16:14, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
