Re-Welcome to Wikipedia.[edit]

Hello thank you for your nice note, I have been researching wikipedia for the last 5 years more or less. I look forward to helping wikipedia out as much as I can. Kennedy, 007--Kennedy, 007 (talk) 07:30, 21 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Absolutely no problem! Thanks for joining Wikipedia. If you have ANY troubles, even the slightest troubles, feel free to come to me for help! Endofskull (talk) 20:24, 21 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank semi-spam[edit]

Thanks for your support in my RfA, which was closed as successful. If you think 11k is amazing, check out WP:EDITS - 85 users have 100k+! Cheers, Nikkimaria (talk) 15:10, 24 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, some people have lots! So any ways, it's absolutely no problem. And congratulations on your adminship! Is it going good? Endofskull (talk) 20:12, 24 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I haven't actually done anything adminly thus far, but it feels pretty cool ;-) Nikkimaria (talk) 20:55, 24 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'd bet so. If you ever need anything, I'm here to help! (Pfft, like you'll ever need my help. But seriously, if you do, come to me!) And again, you're welcome for my support. :) Endofskull (talk) 21:15, 24 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

AleWerks[edit]

Ok there doesn't seem to be too much more to add. Most of the other sites concerning the brewing appear to be beer blogs which can't be relied upon. Although if you do see anything feel free to add. Also, I'll be working on the page for 'Capitol City Brewing Company' in the next few days so keep an eye out. That brewery is much bigger and more well known so there shouldn't be a problem regarding information. Angrybeerman (talk) 23:19, 25 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Okay. I could help on that if you want. Oh yeah, do you want me to help you with your userpage? Endofskull (talk) 23:20, 25 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No, I think me userpage is ok for the moment. Thanks though. Angrybeerman (talk) 00:08, 26 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I can easily see you like beer places, from your contributions. A cool userbox for that is right here. That's just a suggestion. :) Endofskull (talk) 00:11, 26 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Actually I was in Virginia and Washington DC last month. I found some great breweries, which aren't on Wikipedia so I taught I should spread the word. Actually, I'm very surprised there is no article on Capitol City Brewing Company. They run a huge brewpub and restaurant in Columbus Circle. Thousands of people must pass it every day. Strange! Angrybeerman (talk) 00:21, 26 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, okay! I see. That's cool. Nice to meet you. Endofskull (talk) 00:36, 26 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Requesting Help[edit]

Hello for some reason I am under Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Whitmore 8621 for this user who is has been blocked indef. and someone has requested a checkuser o, I am not pleased that someone accuses me of being a Sockmaster and I would like your help in anyway, I do not want my privacy invaded. Kennedy, 007--Kennedy, 007 (talk) 02:04, 29 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hey. Umm I went ahead and commented, is that what you wanted me to do? Endofskull (talk) 02:10, 29 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

ReligiousTolerance[edit]

[I'm moving this exchange to your discussion page, cos I don't normally use the IP I was posting from.]

For the article, Christian, how is this not a reference? Just wondering, and thanks for your contributions. Endofskull (talk) 04:21, 29 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your note. I hate to rant about the organization (Religious Tolerance), because really there's nothing wrong with them; they generally take sensible or at least defensible positions on issues. The problem is a lot of Wikipedia editors treat them as if they were a Reliable Source, on par peer-review academic publications and the like. They're not. They're basically self-published. The main author is a retired engineer with no advanced qualifications in religious studies.

There are thousands of quality sources on for religious articles. There's no need at all to rely on a source which as about the same status as a personal blog.96.52.227.71 (talk) 04:35, 29 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I somewhat see what you're saying. But would you mind if I just reverted your edits, and made a discussion on the talk page? Endofskull (talk) 04:37, 29 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, it's probably worth hashing out in discussion.96.52.227.71 (talk) 04:42, 29 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Blimey, that was fast![edit]

Dear Endofskull, please show mercy and do not speedily delete my John Wilson Orchestra start. Talk about demotivating! I have barely finished writing it, and there you are. I admire your vigilance but question your humanity??? With all due respect to your admin skills, etc. I have just tried to ref the website, which is, admittedly, my only source of info so far, though I intend to remedy that. please can you correct my poor formulation, and kindly show a little latitude here? I am a musician myself and this article should have been written years ago. I will be locating and reference reviews, discography, etc. Thanks for any helpful things you can do, as opposing to deleting my work so vigilantly. I hope you are enjoying your weekend....sorry, forgot to sign. Please reply to my Talk pageFClef (talk) 19:15, 29 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Replied on talkpage. Endofskull (talk) 19:20, 29 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for clemency <blush.. Yes, fantastic, please do tag it Under Construction. I have to say, that my refs will prob be confined to the v helpful website, to newspaper reviews and interviews (if I can find them). I have a further request.

Please could you do a REDIRECT under the name John Wilson (musician) for this article and also enter that title in the appropriate category the John Wilson DISAMBIGUATION page? I imagine that's the right way of handling this, but don't have the skills. I imagine it's best to call him musician. He is really a composer/arranger/conductor.

Where are you, by the way? I'm guessing in the US. I am a City of London guide and former musical theatre pianist.FClef (talk) 19:27, 29 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. Well, John Wilson (musician) is already a Wikipedia page, about another person. So what do you want me to do on that one? Oh yes, by the way, I believe I would be called an Irish American. (See my userboxes for more info) Endofskull (talk) 19:30, 29 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Can you do something clever like conductor or arranger or orchestrator or musical director? (He is of course a complete genius and works at the topmost level. You might like to go to Youtube and listen to any of his work.) I leave it to your wikibrain to sort the best labelling. Incidentally, as an Irish American, have you read Edward Rutherfurd's fantastic epic history of Ireland? I am midway thru the 2nd volume and loving it.FClef (talk) 19:35, 29 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Wait wait, is his last name actually Orchestra, or is a an orchestra conductor? And no I haven't read Edward Rutherfurd's book on Ireland's history. I might like to sometime. Endofskull (talk) 19:39, 29 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No, no, his name is John Wilson. He is known in his own right as a conductor and orchestrator; he has also created the John Wilson Orchestra, which this article is about. should the article title reflect both? i.e., John Wilson|John Wilson Orchestra? or vice versa? I think it is best to called it John wilson Orchestra, redirect from John Wilson (conductor)and disambiguate under John Wilson.(NB Rutherfurd's bk is actually a novelised history, tasteful and full of general knowledge, a superior erudite potboiler.)FClef (talk) 19:45, 29 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Let me make sure I understand everything correctly before I do anything. John Wilson Orchestra is written/conducted by John Wilson. You want me to take John Wilson's article, and make it redirect to the John Wilson Orchestra. Is that correct? Endofskull (talk) 19:50, 29 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, not quite. (Excuse delay, I have just had dinner break)

1. There is already an article on Wikipedia about John Wilson (musician). Forget him - he's a completely different person. 2. It is John Wilson (conductor) - founder of the John Wilson Orchestra, that I am concerned with. It is barely mentioned in the John Wilson article. 3. In the last three minutes, I have just found an Wikipedia article on John Wilson (conductor). 4. This removes the need for disambiguation or redirection. 5. I intend to finish writing my article on the John Wilson Orchestra and will cross refer it in the John Wilson (conductor) article. 6. Perhaps they will need to be merged at some stage, but please let me complete the Orchestra article first. 7. I think my Orchestra article may take precedence in a merge, because the Website is called John Wilson Orchestra. 8. Thanks for all your help so far. FClef (talk) 21:08, 29 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I see now. So you don't really need me to do anything else?

Endofskull (talk) 21:10, 29 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, you have been v. understanding, and I'm only sorry to have discovered a pre-existing article, but hope I will make the John Wilson Orchestra article sufficiently compelling to allow it to stand independently.FClef (talk) 21:14, 29 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That's no problem. If you ever need anything, feel free to contact me! Endofskull (talk) 21:15, 29 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks[edit]

Thanks for removing the speedy deletion tag. emijrp (talk) 20:36, 29 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No problem! I realized it was okay. :) Endofskull (talk) 20:36, 29 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Bonjour, Endofskull - it's Monday here already, well not quite. One minute short. Ah. There we go.

Please take another look at the article now. I hope you like it and feel that it is somewhat covered in glory. Please could you remove the "stub" tag now, but keep the "under construction" tag.

I hope you will agree that it stands in its own right. The reason I originated the article under this title is that the John Wilson Orchestra is totally unique - notwithstanding his brilliance as an arranger and conductor in other spheres. The Orchestra was put together with a very specific philosophy and I have managed to articulate and document this. I have also added a Discography.

Can you help beautify or extend the Categories section, please? Best wishes, FClef (talk) 23:05, 29 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

RE:Thanks for welcoming people![edit]

Ok! Thanks for the tip! From now on I will wait until they have some contributions. Thanks! MissAmericaGirl (talk) 21:12, 30 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

That sounds good! I have a tip, assuming you're using the user creation log. You see how most of the names are red? Okay, so you see their name, then talk text, and contributions text. You'll see that the contributions text are either red or blue. If it's red, that means that they have no contributions. If it's blue, that means that they have at the least, one. Understand?
Another way to find new users is to go to Special:Contributions/newbies. Just look and you can easily welcome them, since you know they have contributions. The way I access that easily, is it's in my favorites bar, and whenever I want to go to it, I just click it. Easy as that!
Any other questions, and do you understand everything? Endofskull (talk) 21:17, 30 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I was using the user creation log but the Contributions/Newbies link you gave me is much easier to use! Thank you for sharing it!! I don't have any other questions right now, but if I do I'll let you know! Thanks for your help! MissAmericaGirl (talk) 21:24, 30 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Absolutely no problem. Oh yeah, you should join the Wikipedia welcoming committee. Although I'm not in it, because it's not not my main priority, I think you should consider joining. Again, it's no problem! Endofskull (talk) 21:33, 30 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fanny Bay[edit]

Yes, it is unreferenced, but I know the place in a general way and it sounds valid; so see what I said at User talk:Pdoubleyoo asking them to cite it before another editor takes it out for being uncited....IMO the proper procedure for YOU in this case would be to add the cite tag, rather than a bulk deletion as you ahve just done; we were minutes apart in this, perhaps less than 90 seconds, by the way....Skookum1 (talk) 00:00, 31 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I know. Sorry about that. I told him he can re-add it once he found references. Again, sorry. And thanks for contacting me! :) Endofskull (talk) 00:02, 31 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Jean Benguigui[edit]

I contested the prod you placed on Jean Benguigui on the grounds that sources not being in English still count as sources. Google Translate can provide a rough translation of the reference. Note that I contested only your rationale for deletion; I have no opinion on whether the subject meets notability criteria or any other valid rationale for deletion. —KuyaBriBriTalk 18:28, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I just thought that since the references are in another language, it might not count. Thanks for contacting me! Endofskull (talk) 19:42, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
