Previous[edit]

User talk:Artarch/Archive 1

After a name change, I have wiped this page clean. If you're really curious, all content is archived above.Artarch (talk) 00:30, 18 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Username change[edit]

The page where you can submit a username change request is Wikipedia:Changing username. —Politizer talk/contribs 14:59, 17 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

{{helpme}}Now that I have a new Username, and the issues above have all been resolved, I'd like to place the contents into an archive. I found the archive box template, but need to know if the archiving would be premitted. Reasons: page is too long, and I have a new name.Artarch (talk) 22:27, 17 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see any reason why not, as you are now unblocked. As long as you understand the reasons as to why you were blocked originally, there should be no problems. Stwalkerstertalk ] 22:46, 17 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
As far as I know there is never anything wrong with archiving—it's considered rude to archive discussions while they're still ongoing, but since everything here is resolved then you should be able to archive anything you want. —Politizer talk/contribs 23:14, 17 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Archiving[edit]

If you're having trouble archiving it, here's how I do it:

  1. Open two windows. In the first window, have your talk page open and click the "edit" tab at the top of the page to edit the entire page. In the second window, create an archive page at User talk:Artarch/Archive 1.
  2. In the first window, select the entire contents of your talk page (except for ongoing conversations) and cut it (don't delete it).
  3. In the second window where you are creating a talk page, paste in the text and click Save.
  4. In the original window, type a link to User talk:Artarch/Archive 1; that link, along with any ongoing conversations, should be the only thing left in the page. Then click Save.
  5. Once that's done you should have an archive page at User talk:Artarch/Archive 1, linked from your main page. After that you can play around with things (like adding an image or specifying the dates of the archive) if you want.

Hope this helps, —Politizer talk/contribs 23:47, 17 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. The new version is lean and fast.Artarch (talk) 00:32, 18 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
