Hi. I'm sorry to have lost your vote, and am concerned that it may be because of the way that what I've said has been interpreted by others in their responses, more than my own statements. I believe I'm being misunderstood, largely over the meaning of "extreme". Everything that has been said in response by the participants is consistent with my understanding of the process, including the fact that deletions are routine and necessary. I have no problem understanding, and agreeing with, the CSDs, and believe I could handle them properly. The AfDs deal with somewhat grayer decisions and, as I said, I don't intend to work there – it doesn't really interest me, and I believe my talents are better used elsewhere. Caking article

Sorry to create trouble with the cut-and-paste move. I tried moving it several times from my user sub-page, where it was started, leaving a trail of attempts in the process. Anyhow, I do feel there needs to be a page on the subject, or a section in a larger article. I won't touch it until the history is merged, unless I can do something to help. I would like a re-review regarding the article submitted on the Todos Santos Writers Workshop. The "copyrighted material" from the workshop's website is not clearly delineated.   • Hey, @Rexweiner1:, thanks for submitting to AfC! Since you hold the copyright to this text, it should be no problem to get your draft back and have it re-reviewed. However, there are just a few technical things we'll have to do before reviving the draft.
    • The first thing to note is, "Most websites (and other sources) are automatically protected by copyright under rules such as the Berne Convention, even if the author did not apply for copyright or place a copyright notice in their work" (from Wikipedia:Copy-paste). So copyright is automatically assigned, whether it is explicitly specified or not.
    • In order to be able to use your text on Wikipedia, you must release your text under a license that is compatible with Wikipedia; please see WP:DONATETEXT for more info. The most simple way to do this is to put a note on the website that specifies the license you're releasing the work under. If you want to do another method, or need help with anything, you can always leave me another message.
    • After it's confirmed that the text has been released, you or I (or both) will contact the sysop who deleted the draft; he or she will most likely un-delete the draft for us and then we'll be all set. If we don't get a response from the sysop, that will be fine; we can list it at Wikipedia:Requests for undeletion (it's a little messy, but it'll still work).

I am however again miffed as to why after placing far more contextual linkages you have sited lack of references as being one of the reasons why you have declined to approve the page.

We are in the Australian Library's National Political Archive, are referenced on Yahoo!7 Australia...what else is needed?

This is a legitimate submission for a super site that like PrivateEye provides the world with leading political satirical coverage.

Please further explain.

Thanks for contacting me. Having references means citing sources in a way that is verifiable. Just saying "Australian National Archive" as your only citation isn't enough; you need to cite an actual publication that proves you are in the Australian National Archive. When you say that FridayMash is on Yahoo!7 Australia, you should use one of those <ref> tags and link to your actual coverage. In addition, all material that can be challenged should be supported with a citation, and ideally you should cite a broad range of reliable sources to establish notability. If you have further questions, you can, of course, ask here again, but you might get better help if you ask at the Articles for Creation help desk or on the irc channel. Thank you for the constructive remarks and guidelines! as you suggested, I changed the text and its tone. in addition, i added relevant references and cites. Most references are in Hebrew, though kagan's activity in the field of standards during the last decade is international, and that is why i believe it is important to be on wikipedia.

I also got this error massage: "Error: #time only supports years from 0". what causes this error?

Hi Liquidspice, I see that the article has improved a lot. I fixed the timestamp (something changed it to zero for some reason).
In terms of the content, I'm going to defer to another reviewer at this point because I can't read Hebrew, but I have some suggestions. Biographies of living persons are held to very high standards of referencing. Anything that can be doubted needs a citation, including all of his personal info. Also, do you realize that your wikitable is not very standard? Usually Wikipedians use infoboxes. In the intro, usually Wikipedia articles avoid having quotes because the intro is supposed to be a neutral summary of the matter, so a quote might take away from Wikipedia's tone. That's all. Hello Gdfusion. This message is part of a mass mailing to people who appear active in reviewing articles for creation submissions. First of all, thank you for taking part in this important work! I'm sorry this message is a form letter – it really was the only way I could think of to covey the issue economically. Of course, this also means that I have not looked to see whether the matter is applicable to you in particular.

The issue is in rather large numbers of copyright violations ("copyvios") making their way through AfC reviews without being detected (even when easy to check, and even when hallmarks of copyvios in the text that should have invited a check, were glaring). A second issue is the correct method of dealing with them when discovered.

If you don't do so already, I'd like to ask for your to help with this problem by taking on the practice of performing a copyvio check as the first step in any AfC review. The most basic method is to simply copy a unique but small portion of text from the draft body and run it through a search engine in quotation marks. Trying this from two different paragraphs is recommended. (If you have any question about whether the text was copied from the draft, rather than the other way around (a "backwards copyvio"), the Wayback Machine is very useful for sussing that out.)

If you do find a copyright violation, please do not decline the draft on that basis. Copyright violations need to be dealt with immediately as they may harm those whose content is being used and expose Wikipedia to potential legal liability. If the draft is substantially a copyvio, and there's no non-infringing version to revert to, please mark the page for speedy deletion right away using {{db-g12|url=URL of source}}. If there is an assertion of permission, please replace the draft article's content with {{subst:copyvio|url=URL of source}}.

Some of the more obvious indicia of a copyvio are use of the first person ("we/our/us..."), phrases like "this site", or apparent artifacts of content written for somewhere else ("top", "go to top", "next page", "click here", use of smartquotes, etc.); inappropriate tone of voice, such as an overly informal tone or a very slanted marketing voice with weasel words; including intellectual property symbols (™,®); and blocks of text being added all at once in a finished form with no misspellings or other errors.
