Zoe Telford article[edit]

If you copy the whole article, you cause unwanted effects. The subheadings create new sections. The cat-templates put talkpages in the respective categories. These categories are only for articles not for user or talkpages. Never add these anywhere but in actual articles. I can go through some mistakes you made if you want to. Also use : when you answer in a discussion (one more than the person before you) and do answer by using edit source and not New section.Gehenna1510 (talk) 22:50, 9 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I saw you removed the {{BLP sources}} template. This must stay on an article about a living person, as it informs about the more strict rules which apply to these articles. Only remove these if the person is dead.
You can't use the picture from IMDB. Pics need special permissions (please ask in the teahouse for details) before they can be used on wikipedia.
IMDB is not a reliable source, as everybody can edit this site (the same rule is in place for wikipedia itself by the way). What you need are sources like the norfolkmag. (Also take a look at my own edit on the article. I expandeed the refs from bare urls to complete citations.)
When somebody reverts your edit please do not re-revert this. It just brings you in trouble.

This is not my area of expertise, but I believe the proper licensing of the image has to be verified by WP:OTRS#Team activities. Click on "grants of license for donated media", and that should explain what's needed. Thank you. I read the list of requirements and it seems like a lot to ask of a complete stranger who was nice enough to reply to my request to use a picture she posted on Twitter. I will just remove the image tags.
The image was deleted anyway. Surely you know by now that learning the rules at Wikipedia is not easy, and the copyright rules, which are quite strict, are relatively complex unless you're very familiar with them.--Bbb23 (talk) 22:06, 17 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, well... it was a good faith effort. The probability that I would ever meet Ms. Telford to take a picture that I can freely release the license to is absolutely zero. So that’s it then.   • Hey Jack, I'm back to help after your recent significant changes to the article. I have only reviewed the cosmetics. First, rather than bold "headers" like Before 2005. They should be real section headers, in this case subsections of the Career section. Second, movies, TV series, plays, etc. are italicized at Wikipedia. Some of yours have no formatting, and one has bold. Finally, it's good practice at Wikipedia to include edit summaries in every change you make to an article, even if you consider it a minor change. They don't have to be long. For example, if you're just fixing punctuation or formatting, you could say "punctuation", "format", or even the umbrella phrase "copy edit". Good morning, Jack, I wanted to describe the changes I made to the article. The majority of the changes fell into two areas: the parenthetical date of a film is not italicized, and WP:OLINK means that once you add a wikilink, you don't wikify subsequent occurrences of the same link. The other changes were more varied, changing a word, removing excessive detail about someone other than Telford (it's okay to describe another actor's role if it establishes a relationship with Telford but otherwise it's simply not noteworthy).
At this point, my principal objection to the Career section is it has too much detail. You've done a great job of expanding the article, but, frankly, the amount of material is not commensurate with her notablity. Your efforts have clearly established that she is sufficiently notable to have an article here. I've therefore removed the notability tag. Again, thanks to you, I've also removed the tag about additional sources as it no longer applies (it would be good, though, if you could add a source for the recent audiobooks). However, she's not a "star". Therefore, what I would do is to trim some of the material you've added. I know that'll probably hurt a bit (smile), but we can't let ourselves get too invested in a subject that we lose our principal goal as an editor, which is to improve the encyclopedia per its guidelines and policies. For example, some of the smaller roles could be eliminated, and some of the detail about her appearances could be eliminated. Thank you. Yes, I’m fine with any and all changes, and no, it’s not going to hurt anymore, not even a little. This project has taken more time than I originally thought, and while I initially acted like a baby and was ready to abandon it, I couldn’t leave it unfinished. I am taking your inputs very seriously and will make the additional changes later tonight (as life beckons and those formulas and numbers are not going to calculate themselves).
The audiobook sources are the Tweeter feeds of Fallon and McAllister, supported by Amazon UK - so I did not know how to source them. That line can be deleted too.
Indeed, Telford is not a “star” (I doubt if she ever wanted to be) and mostly unknown outside the UK and the PBS faithful. But to those who know of her work, I noticed (by Googling at unhealthy levels) that she is revered, so there is a very small sample out there who I am certain will appreciate the updates to her Wiki page.
