Dead fish report and Gold Ridge dam water discharge?

[edit]

@Jason Rees: These are two sources I found related to Cyclone Raquel; one mentioning reports about the schools of dead fish and corals found dead in Marovo Lagoon. - http://www.solomonstarnews.com/news/national/7426-environment-to-respond-to-dead-fish-report And the other talks about releasing untreated water from the Gold Ridge dam due to the risk of the dam breaking. - http://www.solomonstarnews.com/news/national/7423-mou-must-be-signed Is it worth mentioning either of them in the article right now, even though they haven't been proven to be a direct effect of Raquel, or is it best to hold off for now? Undescribed (talk) 03:39, 27 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Add them in as even though their not 100% related to Raquel, its still some of the impacts. Im gonna try and focus on finishing the MH for now. Jason Rees (talk) 18:52, 27 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Oh and any impacts from heavy rain in the Solomon Islands in late June/early before/after Raquel still counts as Raquel.Jason Rees (talk) 19:38, 27 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Undescribed: Feel free to work on the article when you get spare moments.Jason Rees (talk) 17:09, 30 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Jason Rees: Thank you. I've been a little busy lately but I absolutely will in my spare time. Great contributions by the way! Actually, I've also been wanting to ask you if you think it would be a good idea to bring other editors to the page as well? Or do you think it is better to keep it low-key for now until an official article is made? Undescribed (talk) 17:24, 30 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Interestingly I have found sources that show that the Gold Ridge is related to Raquel and is something i need to get my head around.Jason Rees (talk) 00:21, 2 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

When did Raquel enter the AUS region?

[edit]

@Jason Rees: I saw a notation that you made in the MH saying that Raquel was in the Australian region before 0z on July 5th, however according to the main 2015-16 AUS page, the final advisory on Raquel was issued by Brisbane TCWC on July 2 at 06z, and advisories did not resume until July 5 at 0z; both of which are indicated in the MH section. - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:2015%E2%80%9316_Australian_region_cyclone_season Am I missing some track information, and if so how can it be recovered? Undescribed (talk) 03:05, 1 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hmmm... The gap that you are missing is the time that the system was in RSMC Nadi's AOR or the 2015-16 SPAC season. However, it looks like there was a significant relocation from BoM/Nadi just after 04/00z, which caused it too be back in the Aus region but that it wasn't significant enough for full advisories from BoM until 05/00z. I think we will be able to sort of smudge it based on the track provided by Steve Young here. However, if @Keith Edkins: could archive the Brisbane TWO's from the 4/5th it would be appreciated.Jason Rees (talk) 12:00, 1 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, the track data definitely verifies that Raquel re-entered the Aus region on the 4th. Archive discussions would make it easier to incorporate the MH info for Raquel on the 4th into the article. Undescribed (talk) 15:14, 1 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Done.--Keith Edkins ( Talk ) 18:57, 1 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks @Keith Edkins:, Can i be a pain please and ask for Nadi's Tropical Disturbance Summaries from July 2 - 4 to also be archived.Jason Rees (talk) 22:34, 1 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
2015-07-02, 0900z // 2015-07-03, 0000z // 0900z - 4th July reports no disturbances.--Keith Edkins ( Talk ) 17:50, 2 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Keith :).Jason Rees (talk) 18:00, 2 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I think this is ready

[edit]

I think we can post this now - it's an okay article and we should make the article as it is very historically significant. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Izmik (talkcontribs) 15:37, 7 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I agree so too. Just maybe some more bits at the top and then it's done. Well done! What an interesting cyclone! Typhoon2013 (talk) 10:25, 16 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
