RE: I Want You (Marvin Gaye album)[edit]

Hi. I've removed that entire section, since none of the sources were reliable. Geowayne.com is a self-published source positing personal analysis/interpretation of songs by someone named Wayne Studer. The Wikipedia article on I Get Along (Pet Shop Boys song) is not a reliable source (WP:NOTSOURCE). I could not find anything online (Google, GoogleBooks, etc.) stating the Pet Shop Boys sampled or used "I Want You". Please keep in mind that an encyclopedia is not just a space for facts and ideas, but a space for notable facts and ideas. If something is not said by a reliable third-party source, then it simply won't be included, regardless of whether it's factual or not. Dan56 (talk) 20:04, 5 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

AllMusic is the source for the release date, as shown here in the article, where there is a footnote placed alongside the material in question. The Internet isn't your only source for information. There are books, journals, magazines, liner notes, etc. and if one of those sources explicitly says what you want to have an article say, please feel free to include it with the appropriate citation. I'm not going to get too in-depth and explain the gist and logistics of Wikipedia; there's a more-than-adequate guideline here on identifying different kinds of sources for reliability, along with this essay which explains the purpose of articles in one sentence: "Wikipedia's articles are intended as intelligent summaries and reflections of current published debate within the relevant fields, an overview of the relevant literature." The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment.
