username

[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because appears to be a soapbox for a certain agenda or cause which will make it hard for other editors to assume that you are writing from a neutral point of view.. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may file for a change of username, or you may simply create a new account and use that for editing. Thank you.  7  05:50, 13 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Why does this user need to change their username in help other users assume less bad things?
I think it would be good for this user to change usernames for the reason you give, however I don't think it is a critical problem that needs to be addressed immediately. John Vandenberg (chat) 04:19, 14 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it does. It's our policy. - UtherSRG (talk) 05:00, 14 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for advice. I have changed my signature and am trying to change username. co-motherhood 04:56, 14 May 2010 (UTC)

"co-motherhood" would also be a poor choice. Go to Wikipedia:Changing username to change your name. - UtherSRG (talk) 05:00, 14 May 2010 (UTC)][reply]
Thank you. I am starting to get an idea of what those who do not conform are faced with! I thought "co-motherhood" would identify my contribution here and had no other reason for changing my signature to this word. I think we should not get over-sensitive. I would also appreciate a reason for suggesting the deletion of my contribution. Thanks again co-motherhood 05:46, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
It identifies you as taking a very particular side - one that you advocate in the one article you've written. Re-read the username policy. Pick a neutral name, then request it at Wikipedia:Changing username. - UtherSRG (talk) 05:51, 14 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
True, I take the side of equal rights. Would it be more appropriate to advocate for unequal rights? My aim is to inform. My request for change of username is sent. co-motherhood 05:57, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
Read our neutral point of view policy. Wikipedia is not an advocacy journal; it is an encyclopedia. - UtherSRG (talk) 06:00, 14 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
An encyclopedia should not lack terms that are being currently used and my explanation, if not good enough, can be edited. My aim was to inform of a term which was lacking and if you give me more time (I only joined yesterday) I might very well add new contributions about totally different subjects, if I find any more lacking terms in Wikipedia. co-motherhood 06:15, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
Indeed, written from a NPOV, and by editors who can see from a neutral perspective. Your username says you can't (whether it's true or not) and so does your 2nd choice of username, "co-motherhood", given your edit history. Spend some time thinking about a good username. - UtherSRG (talk) 06:23, 14 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I agreed to changing my username as soon as I saw your message and I requested for a change as soon as I figured out how. I did not request for a change to "co-motherhood". I also told you why I changed my signature to this word. I am heterosexual and NOT for nor against co-motherhood, as I think my article shows very clearly. I am fully capable of viewing from a neutral perspective. I just noticed the term was missing and thought I would help out and fill in a gap. I did not think my choice of username was crucial as long as it was not offending, which I can not see that it is. Now if you can just change my username as I requested yesterday, maybe we can start discussing my ARTICLE and not my username. Again; why did you suggest it be deleted? Only because of my username? co-motherhood 01:41, 15 May 2010 (UTC)
  1. You keep signing your comments as "co-motherhood" That's the action of someone changing their username to "co-motherhood" Excuse me if that's not the case, but I can't see any other name change request.
  2. I'm not a bureaucrat. I can't change your username. You have to go to Wikipedia:Changing username and find a WP:CRAT to change your name.
  3. Your article is a position paper. It's far from NPOV. that's why I want it deleted.
I've not said anything other than what I've been saying. To say otherwise means you are not neutral. You need to check yourself. - UtherSRG (talk) 03:42, 15 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

UtherSRG, a username request was made. see Wikipedia:Changing_username/Simple#Lesbianrights → Z enith. John Vandenberg (chat) 05:28, 15 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

As you may observe, I have erased traces of previous username on this talkpage, as I felt I was being discriminated because of it. Please feel free to leave this as it is or, if you wish, erase the rest of your comments. This is my talkpage and I am not taking any discrimination here. co-motherhood 07:17, 16 May 2010 (UTC)

Hello

[edit]

I noticed on your user talk page that you seem to be interested in LGBT related articles, and wanted to say the we have a WikiProject (mini workgroup) that works to improve the overall quality of LGBT related article. Feinoha Talk, My master 20:49, 14 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much. I will check it out. co-motherhood 01:41, 15 May 2010 (UTC)
