Barnstar

[edit]

Thank you very much for the barnstar, it is most appreciated. Could you sign it so it gets archived automatically in 28 days or whenever? Thanks :) --Gilderien Chat|List of good deeds 15:55, 15 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I think you are referring to the "List of good deeds" barnstar. I did not send that, it was already there when I posted on your talk page. I apologize for the misunderstanding. You can check the history of your talk page to see who posted it. Thanks again for the DYK! I do have one curiosity, thought (I haven't experienced DYK before). How long is it going to take for the DYK to "officially" updated with the fact from this article? Jonathan Harold Koszeghi (talk) 16:02, 15 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I loaded all the pages on my watchlist and you were the most recent contributor...yeah probably a few days, less than a week. If you watchlist the page you will see when it is promoted to the T:DYK/Q.--Gilderien Chat|List of good deeds 16:04, 15 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much, once again. This was my first DYK experience and you were very helpful and understanding. :) Jonathan Harold Koszeghi (talk) 16:06, 15 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

WP:Grey's participants update

[edit]

Hey Jonathan! Creativity97 has been inactive for one month but M.Mario has become active again (he made 7 edits yesterday) so you may add him back in the list. Cheers, Sofffie7 (talk) 20:49, 22 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! User:Dabrain930, an old member of the project, is apparently back so he may be re-added to the members' list and we have a new member! User talk:Meryam90 joined the project on October 25. --Sofffie7 (talk) 18:10, 27 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
However, User:InfamousPrince has not been editing for the project since August 27 so he's now clearly inactive and may be removed from the list. I think that's it for now ;-) Tschüss, --Sofffie7 (talk) 18:26, 27 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited I Am a Tree, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Mark Sloan (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi. Just browsing some pages and found that the hyperlink on the "Didn't We Almost Have It All?" episode page has an incorrect hyperlink for the character Jack Yang. Just fyi 174.102.106.45 (talk) 08:18, 3 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, Jonathan. It's been almost a month since your last edit to Wikipedia. Is everything alright? TRLIJC19 (talkcontribs) 17:39, 8 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there! Thanks for your concern! I'm so sorry about my absence in the past month, but med school is literally killing me! I'm a second year now, and I just guess I'm going to have to adapt to change. But I promise, as soon as I get some free time, Wikipedia is going to be the first thing on my mind! Cheers and thanks again! Jonathan Harold Koszeghi (talk) 19:18, 8 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I get where you're coming from! I'm a third year in psych, and I only have time to make minor edits a couple of times a week. TRLIJC19 (talkcontribs) 01:18, 13 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It's been a while!

[edit]

Hey Jonathan! How are you?

I don't know if you've noticed, but I've been absent from Wikipedia for over 2 months now. Medical school has made my life so unbelievably busy, so as a result, I have had no time for Wikipedia. I see you've been finding time for the project, which is great! I hope your work for WP:SGH has been going well.

Any thoughts on Grey's at the moment? I'm not loving this season; in fact, it's probably my least favorite season ever (tied with season 7). Shonda has revealed that the finale also won't be major, which is a bummer. Oh, remember last year when you were telling me how good Desperate Housewives is? Well, in my free time on the weekends, I caught up and I have to say that it's probably my favorite show 2nd to Grey's! What a perfect mix of comedy and drama. Gabrielle's my favorite.

I plan on returning to Wikipedia around summertime, so we'll have the whole season to work endlessly on WP:SGH articles. :-) I hope to finally push Grey's Anatomy to featured status this summer, a goal you know I've been dreaming of for years.

Also, I've been researching historical Grey's ratings, and with that, I noticed an issue in several of our season/episode articles from the early seasons (before TV by the Numbers was around). You know how for early episode ratings we used the ratings listed on the ABC weekly rating reports and called them A18-49? Well it turns out those ratings are in fact household ratings, and not A18-49 ratings (which we need). Luckily, I found a website that has an archive of all the historical Grey's ratings. What a beast this show used to be! When we get the chance, we'll need to update all the early season and episode articles with the correct ratings.

I hope to hear back from you soon, TRLIJC19 (talkcontribs) 02:30, 22 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there! It's really been quite a while! I haven't used Wikipedia ever since I promoted A Change Is Gonna Come to GA in September, but I found a little time for it in the past week (I only edit really late, after I'm done with the studying and all, so I think you can guess just how tired I am). Med school is killing me, but I so absolutely love it. I got the chance to volunteer at a hospital, and I think I've made up my mind about my specialty. There's still time to figure that one out.
You are most certainly right about the new season. The first half I loved: all that post-crash drama that some might have found cheesy, for me was unbelievably real! But you're right.. Sometime after Cristina got back to Seattle, things have got pretty boring. (Kind of like season 4, in you remember. That one I genuinely hated: so uneventful!) I'm so happy you enjoyed Desperate Housewives! Gabby is indeed my favorite too, along with Bree. I was never able to pick one! What season are you at?
About the site you've found, check out this link: [1]. The viewers column (which is described as The number of total viewers age 2+ in millions that watched the program) shows the exact same numbers that we've used from the ABC Weekly Rating reports. Meaning: the ones from the ABC Weekly Rating reports are not households, but actually viewers. And this is what the "viewers" column refers to. The A18-49 ratings we could use in the episode articles, along with the others. I mean, why shouldn't we know that total number of viewers, but instead, only the people aged between 18 and 49?
Currently, I am continuing the season 3 episode GAs. Hoping to get them done perfectly! I have discovered a helpful technique that my help us in the future: when searching for reviews, news, etc on Google, we can narrow the search by adding a time limit: for example, when I searched for "I Am a Tree" news, reviews, etc, I chose September 27, 2006 to September 29, 2006. This way, we only have the info strictly related to the episode we're looking for!
Looking forward to working with you again. :) Jonathan Harold Koszeghi (talk) 09:12, 22 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I'm really glad that you've been able to find time to edit recently; I'm usually too tired to even think about signing on at the end of the day. What specialty are you looking into?
Yes, I agree that season 4 was pretty bad too. That explains the harsh ratings decline that season. In regard to Desperate Housewives, does Susan remind you of Meredith at all? I find their personalities to be so similar! I just finished season 7, which in my opinion was the best since the first. The Alejandro and Paul Young storylines were very riveting.
As for the ratings and total viewership numbers; yes, the total viewer numbers on the new site are the same as the ones on ABC Medianet. But you know how we took the ratings from the Medianet and referred to them as A18-49? That is the error we made. Take a look at A Change Is Gonna Come (Grey's Anatomy)#Reception. We said the episode received a 7.3 A18-49 rating, but that rating was in fact the household rating. The A18-49 rating for that episode was actually an 8.8. We'll need to go through all the early season articles and correct this when we get the chance. And yes, we should list both the viewership and A18-49 numbers, but I was saying that in the world of Nielsen ratings, A18-49 is the most important demographic, so those are essential to the articles.
I like that you stubbed all the season 3 episodes, so it can serve as a basis when building fully-fleshed out articles. That is a great trick with the time limit, and I'm sure it will come in handy when I return to Wikipedia full time!
Hope to hear back from you, TRLIJC19 (talkcontribs) 13:53, 22 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Do not revert unless you know what you are doing. I fixed a case of broken brackets. Your revert caused a case of two broken brackets. Cite templates start with curly brackets... {{cite web}} and never are done via <cite web>.

Also do not add in interwiki links. They are dead and have been since February. Interwiki links have been moved to Wikidata. Bgwhite (talk) 06:03, 28 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
