Hey

Hey man, nice to see you back! It's been forever!
A quick note, something I've learned while you're gone; socializing is best via e-mail or IRC. So, I don't think we can talk on-wiki like we did back in the day.
If you ever want to write an article together or something, my door is open! Sam Blab 12:07, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
That's cool bro. It's good to be back. I don't have IRC but I do have AIM. My account name is freakycog. I stay on AIM the entire time I'm on my computer but if you like IRC better I'll make an account. Gears of War 2 12:23, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
IRC is pretty easy to install. If you have Firefox, ChatZilla is a very good program. Wikipedia has an IRC turorial, or I can help you. I'll be on later today I think, maybe around 4:15 EST. See you then! Sam Blab 12:28, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
Thanks, It's good to be back. Gears of War 2 04:03, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
You're welcome! Acalamari 16:19, 8 March 2009 (UTC)

Help!

What template???

Kekkomereq4 08:45, 8 March 2009 (UTC)

The template that warned you about the deletion of a image in a article. Gears of War 2 07:47, 8 March 2009 (UTC)

Anti-Vandalism

Let's see. I'm sure you're already familiar with Huggle and its anti-vandalism capabilities. One idea you may not already know is the New User Log. Looking at the contributions of brand new editors you'll see that they either made a good contribution or they vandalized. In the case of vandalism, revert and warn; in the case of good edits, a welcome template could be a good idea. This log is also good for finding new user accounts with inappropriate usernames, which can be reported to WP:UAA.

As for getting "really involved in more important work in WP", there are many important areas. Did you have anything more specific in mind? Or I could just give you a list of many various places so you could examine them and find some you like. Useight (talk) 00:59, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

I really wanted to focus in on the publishing of the actual encyclopedia. Gears of War 2 02:24, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
Ah, the mainspace. The most important of all important places. What I would do is make a list of articles that you want to create, like I have done at User:Useight/NFL Project. I know you have an interest in video games, so perhaps start at Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Requests. There are quite a few redlinks there that you may be interested in starting. There are probably some other topics that interest you listed at Wikipedia:Requested articles. You'll find it easier to write articles about topics that interest you. Once you've made a list of the articles you want to make, I'd just start knocking them off, one by one. Useight (talk) 02:41, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
Lol nice. Sounds good. I haven't done much article writing since I got back. Wheres is the link to newly made articles. Gears of War 2 02:43, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
The log of new pages can be found here. Articles highlighted in yellow have not yet been patrolled. Useight (talk) 02:46, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
Awesome. Tonight I'm just going to be focusing on patrolling those pages a bit. Gears of War 2 02:48, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
Sweet. Remember, though, that if there is a possibility that the article could become a useful one (i.e., it's not an attack page or something), don't tag it for deletion the very same minute that it was created. Some people recommend starting from the back of the log, but everyone has their own strategy, find one that you like. Useight (talk) 02:54, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

Just wanted to say...

Orphaned non-free media (File:HP3 US.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:HP3 US.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:25, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

Do as you wish all mighty bot. Gears of War 2 05:27, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

Please do not remove the Preview or Known Facts section. I think that it is of vital importance that they stay. Yes, Wikipedia is not for fan speculation or general discussion. But the extracts are not fan speculation, they are of importance since they give the reader an idea about the book. Otherwise, the article will be deleted for very less content. And it is idiotic to delete the important part of the article and add the expand or in the middle of expansion tags. -Pmlinediter (talk) 11:55, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

I'm sorry but this is an encyclopedia. If you add it back I will revert it or tag it makes no difference. But don't talk to me like I don't know what I'm doing. Gears of War 2 11:57, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

Look, I have already reverted the edits. I am sorry if I am being rude and I know that you know what you are doing. But I was just speaking on behalf of the people who want to know about the Percy Jackson series. But do not get involved in an edit war with me. -Pmlinediter (talk) 12:02, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

Excuse me but I am one of the of the main contributors to most of the Percy Jackason articles. If you add it back, I will prod it. Gears of War 2 12:04, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
Plus excepts violate copyrights. Gears of War 2 12:06, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

Do you think that I am a fool or something? Do whatever you want. You seem to be under the impression that I have edited the Pecry Jackson articles for the first time. I will add it back sometime or the other. I do not know what you think others to be. You might have 7500 or 75000000000 edits, I do not care. You may have edited the Percy Jackson articles a million times, I do not bother either. But the edits which you have been more of adding tags than editing. And if you really want to make an organized effort for the Percy Jackson articles, mind it, it is Jackson not Jackason, start a Percy Jackson task force or a WikiProject Percy Jackson. I promise that I will be the first to join it if you do. -Pmlinediter (talk) 12:17, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

Bro, you really need to take a chill pill. We're all friends here, no need to be feisty. Look you don't know anything about my contributions clearly(I have lots of edits on the Lightning Thief)plus i dont take pride in my edit count. Do you see that green circle up there and that gold star, thats what I'm proud of. Now you can leave with an attitude and ignore this message, or you can grown up, chill, and just have fun editing. Plus, if you want a PJ Taskforce for real, just tell me, I'l make it happen bro. Happy editing. Gears of War 2 22:06, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

Okay, I do want a PJ taskforce. I think that it will enhance the quality of the PJ articles. Pmlinediter (talk) 08:05, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

Alright cool. Right now I have to go to school but when I get on at like 6:00, I'll pitch it to WP:NOVELS and see what they think. Gears of War 2 11:43, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

Sorry, but I don't really understand why the previews and the known facts were removed. I understand WP is an encyclopedia, but is there a way that we can rewrite it to make it un-fansite-ish? I mean, well, it was my idea to put the Known facts section, and it was my idea of moving the previews from the main PJ page to the TLO page, so it was a little off-putting when I found it removed today. In fact, I was going to add the newest fact just now... I added these because I saw "Premise" sections in most movies, so I thought it would be reasonable to have similar sections in the TLO or other pages. All the informaton I add have reliable sources, and I also deleted the ones that are unsourced. I believe we can discuss this in the talk page of TLO. Hope this won't bother you too much. Good luck on getting us a PJ taskforce! --Mktsay123 (talk) 16:11, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

I have made many edits to the PJ Task Force page and have invited some persons to join. Please try to invite more potential members and update the articles. Pmlinediter (talk) 08:55, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

Oh, add this to your page {{Wikipedia:WikiProject Novels/Outreach/User Percy Jackson task force}}
. Pmlinediter (talk) 08:55, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

About the template

Send me the link of the template. -Kekkomereq4 (talk) 17:56, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
Sorry but I don't seem to understand your question. Gears of War 2 22:16, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

I know I'm retired, but...

Well, It's nice to see you back somewhere. I'm sysoping over at en-wikinews, so drop me a line there or through email if you ever need to. You seem to be inactive over there, so I assume it wasn't your thing. Good luck with your future editing, R.T. 22:17, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

Not that I think about it, I have several friends with Live so you can send me messages through them, too. R.T. 22:19, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

Firestar's Quest

Hi. Regarding the recent edit I made to Firestar's Quest, I just wanted to suggest that perhaps we don't need the characters list? There is already a more detailed and informative section on all the characters in the character list, so it sort of seems redundant to put it there. Also, to keep it in line with all the other articles, which don't have character lists, that might be improved. In the meantime, though, I do want to fix the typos. Thank you, Swiftink (talk) 21:56, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

The characters section was requeted by a reviewer to improve the article. N.G.G. 02:58, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
But in its current state, I hardly think the character list improves the article. It's missing characters, shows incomplete forms of their names, and has vague descriptions. That can all be edited, but wouldn't it be better to just create links on the names in the plot summary to the characters' sections in the character list? For instance, Cherrytail gives a link to Cherrytail's section in the character list. The sections are more detailed and descriptive, and we wouldn't have to repeat them. Moonrise was able to reach Good Article status, yet it doesn't have a character list. Thank you, Swiftink (talk) 15:36, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
Go head and make them more descriptive but don't go adding all kinds of characters in all the clans that appear in the series. That kind of stuff I have to revert.N.G.G. 21:50, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
Okay, I guess that'll have to do. Thanks, Swiftink (talk) 22:44, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

Box

I've cleaned up the box at the top to make it float at the right. Hope you don't mind, I was just getting annoyed by the full-screen width. flaminglawyer 22:35, 12 March 2009 (UTC)

It's cool thanks.N.G.G. 22:36, 12 March 2009 (UTC)
