Hi Nickoustic I though we can discuss the dispute about genre and release date here instead of edit-warring. The problem here as I see it is lack of communication as I believe in your good intentions. As for the release date - 3 March is definitely not correct. It's the date of certification, but the song had been in chats before that - I have found these two sources MTV, Billboard. The second one states the peak date in charts was October 2002 so the release couldn't have been in 2003. Could you please find reputable sources that would state the release date and genre? A source is a must as it's one of the core Wikipedia policies. I will look for it as well, but the more people, the better the result. Hope we can work together on this one. Yeah definitely! The sites I found that list it as hard rock and rock are Apple Music and Discogs. The official date I was going by was the album date that’s referenced in the page. It has August 27, 2002 as the release date for the album. There’s another page referenced on there though that’s for the Spider Man soundtrack that has it listed as April 30, 2002. I’ll track down better sources but trying to clean up some of the inconsistencies I see whenever I notice them. Nickoustic (talk) 20:55, 5 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello there, I would like to take this opportunity to help to resolve this little dispute going on with the genre and release date at Bother (song). I can clearly see you are only try to help with the article, especially if you feel the information that is currently there is incorrect. The reason I kept reverting your edits was due to the fact that they seemed to be original research, espescially since they weren't backed with reliable sources. But if your edits are reverted, please take the matter over to the article's talk page, instead of reverting it back. I have already started a discussion on the talk page of the article if you would like to join in. Also, regarding sources, please keep in mind that certain sources are not considered reliable, such as Discogs, which I believe was the source you were going by to help back your claim. A list is available at WP:RSMUSIC and WP:ALBUMAVOID for a comprehensive list of reliable and/or unreliable music sources. Finally, please remember to include your sources in your edits rather than just quoting them in the edit summary. Hope we can continue to cooperate with each other to resolve this issue. You can also leave a message on my talk page if you'd like to ask me any questions. Many thanks, Magatta (talk) 21:11, 5 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Sent you messages explaining everything and it’s explained pretty well here as well Nickoustic (talk) 21:14, 5 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Sources are already listed on the page. It’s from 2 of the wiki pages linked directly on the page. Release date for bother is either April 30, 2002 for the Spider-Man release or August 27, 2002 from the Stone Sour album. The album and the soundtracks pages are both linked to the page already. So it’s impossible for it to have been released in 2003. It was on the billboard in 2002….. lol Nickoustic (talk) 00:28, 6 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Lol we’ll see how well that works. Blows my mind how committed you guys are to having the wrong information. Bunch of keyboard warriors with no idea how the real world works. Or no idea how many accounts you can create lol Nickoustic (talk) 00:41, 6 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I was willing to work with everyone that approached me. Half of them were trying to find sources because the release date of March was wrong. You need to completely overhaul the page for the album and the page for the soundtrack if you think March is the correct release date. I provided links to the other wiki pages that have the sources listed and I was trying to explain that. Now I’m a little ticked off though so you’re going to have a hard time fixing the right information to put the wrong information back Nickoustic (talk) 00:45, 6 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
