Orphaned non-free media (Image:DSC00301.JPG)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:DSC00301.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 14:20, 24 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, there are over five million users here, some of whom have thousands of pages on their watchlists. That explains why there are so many recent changes. As far as rules go, here's a good summary. What sort of articles are you interested in editing? Zagalejo^^^ 18:23, 21 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:Filfel-gourgy ana-men-agool-ah.ram.ogg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Filfel-gourgy ana-men-agool-ah.ram.ogg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 18:09, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: username

It takes time to process requests. You hadn't placed your request in the right format, so I fixed it for you (the format is so that there are convenient links for the people who actually do the change to check things etc). The link "malformed request" was simply to explain what I had done and link back verifying you did make the request. It shouldn't take more than a few days for you to get your username changed. —Random832 19:02, 11 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unblock

[edit]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

O.Waqfi (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

Please include the original unblock request.

Decline reason:

See template below

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Clearing an autoblock

Due to the nature of the block applied, we need additional information before we can decide whether to unblock you. It is very likely that you are not personally blocked. If you are prevented from editing, it may be because you are autoblocked or blocked because of your IP address. Without further details, there is nothing further we can do to review or lift your block. Please follow these instructions:

  1. If you have a Wikipedia account, please ensure that you are logged in.
Your account name will be visible in the top right of this page if you are.
If it isn't, try bypassing your web browser's cache.
  2. Try to edit the Sandbox.
If you are able to edit the sandbox, you are not blocked from editing. Either the autoblock on your IP address has already expired, or you weren't blocked in the first place. Either way, you can resume editing.
  3. If you are still blocked, follow the directions below:
    1. Copy the {{unblock-auto|...}} code generated for you under the "Unblock request" section.
    2. Paste the code at the bottom of your user talk page, and click save.
If you cannot edit your own talk page, use the Unblock Ticket Request System to make your request.
Woody (talk) 14:24, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm afraid you didn't follow the instructions above. Follow the exact instructions posted by Woody, and then we will be able to unblock your IP. - Revolving Bugbear 19:54, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I wrote "" not my user..my ip used by aonther user ""...i am swear sir...that i didn't uplaod any pic....you can see My contributions ..thanks --O.waqfi (talk) 20:02, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Again, I cannot remove the block of the IP address you are using, if you don't follow the instructions. For the second time: attempt to edit any page, such as the sandbox. If you receive a block message, you have been caught in an automatic block of another user, or you are using a blocked IP address; copy the {{unblock-auto}} text (located under the "IP blocked?" section) without modifying it or adding any more text to your talk page. Then, we'll be able to see your IP address and - hopefully - unblock it. (If you are able to edit the page, the IP block has expired and no more unblock requests are necessary.) - Mike Rosoft (talk) 20:30, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

{{unblock-auto}} my user used by another person..,ok tell me what i can do? is it like this. --O.waqfi (talk) 20:34, 27 January 2008 (UTC) {{unblock|my IP used by another person, you can see My contributions}}[reply]

Again, you didn't follow the instructions. Your account is not blocked; your IP address is. Without knowing it, we can't help you. (Please note that due to the Wikipedia privacy policy a majority of administrators cannot view the IP address a user has used to edit; only about a dozen have such a privilege.) For the third time:

  1. Click on this link.
  2. Attempt to edit that page - click on the "edit this page" link at the top of the page.
  3. (If you don't receive a block message when editing, you don't have to make any more unblock requests - the block of your IP address has expired.)
  4. Scroll down until you see the section labelled "IP blocked?". You can see some text starting with {{unblock-auto|...}} - copy it unchanged to your talk page.

Regards, Mike Rosoft (talk) 20:53, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

First of all, did you create the photo? If so, please note that licenses that restrict the use to Wikipedia, only permit non-commercial use, or prohibit making of derivative works are not considered free enough for Wikipedia. Please re-upload it, and mark it with a tag indicating a free license (such as GFDL, Creative Commons attribution, or attribution-sharealike license; see a list of available image copyright tags), or a release into public domain, i.e. with no restrictions of use. (If you are not the author and if the author didn't agree to release it under a free license, I am afraid it probably can't be used on Wikipedia: according to our fair use policies and guidelines, unfree images that merely show what their subject looks like are usually replaceable with a free photo a user could create; for that reason, the unfree image shouldn't be used in an article.) - Mike Rosoft (talk) 16:45, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Excuse me for suspecting you, but did you really create the photo Image:Griffin Frazen 1.JPG? I have noticed that it is watermarked (it contains a semi-transparent text "photorazzi"), perhaps from the original copyright holder. (If you have scanned it from some magazine etc., you cannot release it into public domain or under any license; it retains the copyright it originally had. If you have indeed made it yourself, you'll surely have available a version without the mark.) - Mike Rosoft (talk) 18:01, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • On the second thought, the discovery of the image here has led me to believe that you don't own copyright to the image and are in no position to submit it to Wikipedia under any license; the copyright is held by the Photorazzi agency. (If I am wrong, please have the agency contact the Wikimedia Foundation, and confirm that the image is under GFDL or any other free license. For instructions on requesting copyright permissions, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) For now, I am afraid I am speedily deleting the image as copyright violation. - Mike Rosoft (talk) 18:32, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In general, images found on outside websites cannot be uploaded to Wikipedia. Some websites do publish their material under a free license; however, commercial press agencies normally don't. The fair use policy allows for inclusion of some unfree images in articles; in particular, when the unfree image either significantly contributes to an article in a way that could not be replaced by a free one (for example, use of a limited amount of film screenshots in an article about an actor, such as Elijah Wood, for illustration of his roles is acceptable), or when a free image could not be reasonably made (for example, the article about Jack Chick contains a drawing which is not under a free license and this was found to be acceptable since Jack Chick does not appear in public). The images you have uploaded didn't meet these guidelines (they were unfree images that were used merely to show what the still living person looks like; such images are usually replaceable with a free one some user of Wikipedia could make), and they were falsely marked as self-made even though you were not the author. I am afraid I am not going to restore the images you have uploaded. - Mike Rosoft (talk) 21:48, 29 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • You cannot take an unfree image from an outside source and claim that it is under a free license. If you believe that the image meets the fair use criteria, you can mark it with {{fairusein|Article where it is used}} (or a more specific fair use tag); in that case, you should write an explanation why you believe the image is usable in accordance with the policy. (Images for which fair use is claimed but lack a fair use rationale may also be deleted.) As I have said, images of living people taken from commercial agencies normally don't classify as fair use. For that reason, please don't re-upload the file Image:Griffin Frazen 1.JPG (Photorazzi image); it will be deleted. As for Image:Griffin Frazen 1.jpg (different filename - names are case-sensitive; also a different file), what was its source? - Mike Rosoft (talk) 09:19, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Again, NO. I am NOT going to restore the file Image:Griffin Frazen 1.JPG, because there is NO license tag that would make it acceptable on Wikipedia; it is a copyright violation. Should you re-upload it to Wikipedia under any name, I WILL speedily delete it and temporarily block you from editing. Got it already? (Sorry for being so harsh to you, but I had to make sure that you understand.) - Mike Rosoft (talk) 09:54, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Depends on where you got it. Did you make it yourself? In that case, yes; I can help you choose a free license of your liking. You didn't? (For example, you found the photo on some website, or scanned it from a magazine, etc.) In that case, generally no; not unless there is a good reason why the image couldn't be replaced with a free one you or anybody else could make. Is it a film screenshot? Maybe; if the article discusses an actor's roles in movies, a few screenshots can be included there. - Mike Rosoft (talk) 10:15, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • You asked: "I think it will be Ok if we put it like a screen shot?..can you restore it ?" For the last time, NO, and please stop asking! Uploading of images with incorrect copyright information (such as marking an image as self-made or a movie screenshot when it's not the case) constitutes copyright violation and vandalism, and will result in you being blocked from editing Wikipedia. Please see the Wikipedia copyright, image use, and fair use policies for more details. - Mike Rosoft (talk) 12:17, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have reviewed some of the other files you have uploaded, and I don't understand in what way the file is "self-made".

  • Do you claim that you really own copyright to the recording and are in a position to release it under GFDL and Creative Commons licenses? In that case, I (and the Wikimedia Foundation) would like to see a confirmation from Afroman that it is indeed the case.
  • Did you make the recording at some concert? In that case, I am afraid you cannot upload it to Wikipedia under any license, since you don't own copyright to it. (Just like if you did yourself the work of re-typing the whole text of the Lord of the Rings, it doesn't mean that you can GFDL-license it; it would still be under the original copyright.)
  • Did you get it from some website, or CD, or a similar source? In that case, the claim that the file is self-made is untrue, and again, you can't publish it under any license.

Which is the case? (Please answer the question.) - Mike Rosoft (talk) 20:38, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Response

[edit]

Well, it's not like I was particularly angry; however, you repeatedly failed to understand what I told you, so I had to be blunt. Wikipedia has its copyright policy, which it takes quite seriously in order a) not to put the project in legal jeopardy and b) not to compromise its goal of a free-content encyclopedia. In particular, in your last request you esentially asked me to undelete your image (or let you upload it) with false copyright information, which is absolutely not tolerated.

In order for an image to be considered free enough for Wikipedia, the license it is under must allow third-party commercial use and creation of derivative works. Images that are not under such a license, nor in public domain (i.e. the copyright has expired, or the work was legally exempt from copyright) can only be used as provided by the fair use exception. And as I have told you, if the unfree image could be reasonably replaced by a free image that a Wikipedian could make, the exception does not apply (and, conversely, if you believe that the unfree image can be used, you should be able to explain why it couldn't be reasonably replaced).

Finally, if an image appears somewhere on the net and is not accompanied by a copyright notice, it doesn't mean that you can assume it is in public domain or under a free license. You can ask the author to release it under a free license; for instructions, look here.

Regards, Mike Rosoft (talk) 16:21, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Perhaps you want me to recover the images you have uploaded to Wikipedia for personal use (as you don't remember where you got them); I can do that. Please e-mail me (I have my address displayed on my user page, though in a slightly obfuscated form - hint: "remove-to-reply" is not a part of my e-mail address) and I'll send them to you. However, please don't re-upload them to Wikipedia; not without evidence that they are under a free license or that they can be used under fair use policies. - Mike Rosoft (talk) 16:28, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

(Copied from my page) Hi Mr.Baley...i am "O.Waqfi" ,i had uploaded picture for Griffin Frazen,i think it is Image:Griffin Frazen 1.jpg...you can see it at My contributions...and a admin remove it.because it is for someome alive and from website..what license can you put? my Regards --O.waqfi (talk) 10:22, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

Hi O.waqfi, for a living person, the only way for you to keep an uploaded picture on Wikipedia is to:
1) Take the picture yourself, or
2) Have someone else take it and release it under a license (Acquire a free image)
There are some exceptions to the above, but it's a little complicated. I'm sorry you had photos deleted, and I see that you have uploaded Image:DSC008934.JPG. Those licenses look ok, as does the public domain license of Image:DSC00899.JPG.
Take care that you don't use those licenses for pictures you did not take, unless you can clearly show that the owner has truly released them, as declared in the license. (verifiable emails from the owner of the pic for instance). R. Baley (talk) 16:23, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re your message: I will skip over your question about photos as R. Baley explained what you need to do about uploading photos to Wikipedia. As for your question about restoring articles, I do not understand what articles you want restored. Can you tell me which ones you want restored? -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 18:55, 1 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks... but...

[edit]

Thanks for your comments here, however, last time I checked I wasn't a "he". If you could fix that comment, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance. Triona (talk) 09:28, 2 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image sources

[edit]

Some Flickr images are acceptable on Wikipedia. A Flickr user can decide what license to submit his images under: if it's "Creative Commons Attribution" or "Creative Commons Attribution Sharealike", then yes, you can upload the image to Wikipedia; if it's "Non-commercial", "Non-derivative", or "All rights reserved", then the license isn't free enough for Wikipedia, and generally can't be used (except as provided by the fair use policies and guidelines). (If the image page contains a crossed dollar or an equal sign, or the text "all rights reserved", it is an indication that the image is not under a sufficiently free license. You can ask the author to release it under a free license; since Flickr does not support changing of a license for a single image, the best way would be for the author to post a declaration that "notwithstanding any statement to the contrary on this page, I, creator of this image, hereby license it under Creative Commons Attribution [Or: Creative Commons Attribution Sharealike] license", or e-mail the Wikipedia Foundation to confirm the licensing; see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for more details.)

As for Youtube, the trouble is that the uploaders of videos often don't own copyright to them (and as such they do it - at least technically - against the law). For this reason, the website can't be used as a source of free images. (It could be used as a source of TV screenshots; however, you must be able to identify the program/film/etc. where the screenshot came from, and the article must discuss his appearance there - the image can't be used merely to illustrate what the person looks like, and it must significantly contribute to the article.)

Regards, Mike Rosoft (talk) 10:17, 2 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like Mike already helped you, but just to add, we prefer images that are under an acceptable free-use license or are in the public domain. When this isn't possible, sometime a copyrighted image can be used under fair use, but this is a last resort, and is explained at Wikipedia:Non-free content. Wikipedia:Image_copyright_help_desk may be able to help you further. Triona (talk) 18:32, 2 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In general: either take the photo yourself, or find somebody who did (and if he hasn't released it under a free license, ask him to do it). As I have repeatedly told you, non-free images of living people that merely show what the person looks like are usually considered replaceable, and shouldn't be used in articles. And this is twice true when the image comes from a commercial agency. - Mike Rosoft (talk) 19:07, 2 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Again, I am afraid the answer is "probably not".

  • It doesn't list the exact page where the image can be located. (And, please, don't break the URL by adding extraneous spaces in it.)
  • It doesn't identify what show or movie the screenshot came from, if it is even a screenshot at all.
  • It doesn't significantly contribute to the article beyond showing what the person looks like, and the article does not discuss his appearance in his shows and movies in any meaningful way. (Compare it with the Elijah Wood article.) Since the subject is still alive, the image can be reasonally replaced with a free one somebody else can make. (See our fair use policy.)
  • It contains no fair use rationale (i.e. an explanation why you believe it can be used in accordance with the fair use policies and guidelines).

Mike Rosoft (talk) 20:14, 7 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

As I have previously told you, the problem is that the article doesn't discuss the roles he played in the shows (including Grounded for Life) in any meaningful way; as such, the unfree image doesn't significantly contribute to the article and could be replaced with a free one that another user could make. (The fact that a free image isn't currently available on Wikipedia is not sufficient to retain the unfree one.) If you dispute my claim that the image isn't usable in accordance with the fair use policy (at least, not now), please state your point at the deletion page here. - Mike Rosoft (talk) 17:01, 9 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Moved page without discussion

[edit]

Hi there. You moved Palestinian people to Palestinian (Arab) without any discussion. Please open a discussion on the talk if you would like to make this move. It's a controversial move that was resisted by many previously. Thanks. Tiamuttalk 12:19, 10 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Marhaba. Ya reit. But there is a huge debate about the issue. For now, the agreement is to confine the page on Palestinian people to a discussion of the people themselves, rather than the issue of Palestine. Notice that the first sentence does say that Palestinian people or Palestinian Arabs are an Arabic speaking people with family origins in Palestine. Discussion of Palestine the land and its history is left to the other article. This one focuses just on the people. I know it seems crazy, but that's where we are right now.
Sharrafna ikteer. Il'iliqa! Tiamuttalk 15:22, 10 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, yes, both my parents are from Nazareth, which is where I live with my husband (no kids yet). The only non-Palestinian in the family is my grandmother whose family is from Homs in Syria. I try to edit Palestine-related articles. It's my passion. But it is really challenging because of all the people who want to deny that we exist. It took four months to get the word "a" before people in the first sentence of the introduction to Palestinian people. Originally, I was hoping to add nation instead, but some people who deny that we are anything but Arabs, refused to allow that to happen. Because Wikipedia works by WP:CONSENSUS, people can block changes to articles, even when based on reliable sources. Crazy, isn't it? But that's the way collobrative editing works.
Where are you from? I'm glad to see another Arab editor around here. Funkynusayri (talk · contribs) is a good one around here. If you ever need any help or advice, please don't hesitate to ask.

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Griffin Frazen pic 1.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Griffin Frazen pic 1.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 22:36, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Moving WWBN.com to WWBN

[edit]

I do belive that it should be moved to WWBN from WWBN.com as it is a trademark issued by the USPTO for World Wide broadcast network, Inc. morako (talk) 17:55, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I totally agree with moving it to WWBN, Who handles the moving? morako (talk) 17:55, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OK talk to an admin. Thank you! morako (talk) 17:55, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • I am afraid I am not going to move the article WWBN.com to WWBN, since the latter page already exists; in addition, the former one is currently nominated for deletion. Unless there's a very good reason not to keep it at its current title, it'll be better to wait until the deletion debate/vote concludes (and if the article is deleted, the issue will become moot). - Mike Rosoft (talk) 19:40, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dropping in to say marhaba

[edit]

Thanks for your note. I just wanted to return the greetings and check in with you to see how you are doing. My sister's inlaws live in Jordan and I go there sometimes to see them them and her. Myabe the next time I'm heading in, we could meet up. I'll let you know. Tiamuttalk 09:22, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey I just noticed your question, but I couldn't understand what you were asking. Can you explain more? Thanks. Tiamuttalk 20:52, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Aaah. I see what you're asking about now. I'm not so good with coding, so I don't know how to answer your question. Also, you need to be more specific about where you want to introduce the colours (on your user page, in your user name, etc.) A good place to ask for help might be here. They will either answer your question or direct you to another area where someone else can. Do be specific about where you want to introduce the colours though. Thanks for responding and don't worry about being late. We all have real lives too. :) Tiamuttalk 14:14, 19 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I don't share my real name with other Wikipedia editors, but have grown to like being called Tiamut. :) I don't have an arabic Wiki account because my written Arabic is not as good as my English, since I studied at English universities. Plus, I feel that writing about Palestinian and Arab issues for an English-speaking audience is more important, given the lack of neutral information about us in the English-speaking world. Tiamuttalk 15:05, 19 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I'm doing okay. How are you? I'm already part of WP:ARAB. Did you sign up? Tiamuttalk 08:32, 22 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Marhaba. Thanks for your note. I'm doing as well as can be expected during these difficult times. It's hard to keep editing when there is so much death and destruction going on all around us. But I'm trying to keep myself from breaking down into weeping and despair by focusing on the little beautiful things, like the budding flowers in my garden and my cat's new kittens. So small and so selfish really, but what else can I do? How are you? I hope you are well. Take care of yourself. Tiamuttalk 00:18, 13 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ahlan, ahlan! Thanks for dropping by to say hi. I'm doing well. It's springtime in Nazareth. As I type, it's couple of hours before sunrise, and the birds are chirping all the same. How is spring in Irbid? It must be beautiful, lots of wildflowers, no? By the way, are you writing at the Arabic Wikipedia? Salamat. Tiamuttalk 01:34, 26 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Look at this BBC article .. [1] resign means he gives up his position, with the implication of immediacy. retire means that he decided not to continue his position at a certain date. If you look through all the articles, i cannot see where it says he quit as of today. he will not run again for office, which will be decided at the Feb. 24th meeting. Speedy deletion of Husn

[edit]
A tag has been placed on Husn, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Scapler (talk) 06:58, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you

[edit]

Thank you for the wishes. No, I'm not from Jordan, but the topic on Arab-Israeli peace initiatives is interesting, and I was surprised that this article does not exist yet. I see you are from Jordan. Would you be having any photographs on a QIZ that I can add to this page? I searched quite a bit for images but did not have any luck on finding free images that satisfy Wikipedia's policies. I now plan to nominate this for a good article status. Let's hope I get this through. Zithan (talk) 18:32, 7 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the wishes. Let's hope we can find some free images. I managed to get this article on DYK today, and have already listed it for Good Article status. Let's hope it works out. :) Zithan (talk) 16:58, 10 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Amman Workshop 11-12 April 2012

[edit]

This research project (which I am part of) is looking for participants for a workshop in Amman in April. The workshop is about representation of and by the Middle East and North Africa, in various language Wikipedias, and looking at barriers to contribution and ways to overcome them

In particular we are interested in those who edit from or about the Middle East, either extensively, or who have been discouraged from editing more due to on-wiki issues.

Full details at http://www.zerogeography.net/2012/02/open-invitation-to-workshop-in-amman.html.

All the best,
