There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing. Additionally, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for your contributions to Wikipedia, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block. To do so, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason for thinking that the block was an error, and publish the page. Hi Widr, I understand the reason for your recent block.

Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Nimisha Gupta and I am looking after social media for LSV Group. We are trying to create a Wikipedia page for Mr. Shu Joshi who is (Stanford GSB and UCL graduated) a well-known healthcare entrepreneur and angel investor in the Indian community. He has been active in the Indian start-up ecosystem and has been covered by many publication houses. I am attaching some reference links for your consideration 1. https://ehealth.eletsonline.com/2016/03/patient-centricity-as-driver-of-health-industry/ 2. Ref to Page 57 - https://issuu.com/ehealth_magazine/docs/ehealth-march-2016 3. Ref to panel discussion Day 1 - http://www.starup.in/mumbaisep16/

Request you to please unblock and release article.

Best, Nimisha Gupta On Behalf of Pharmonitor Business Media

Requested username:

Request reason:

I would like to contribute towards information about Entrepreneurs and Investors active in Indian eco-system

Decline reason:

Your proposed new username would be acceptable. However, you will not be unblocked to continue to violate the conflict of interest policy. You also have not complied with the paid editing policy, a Wikipedia Terms of Use requirement. If you want to edit about subjects unrelated to your conflict of interest as an individual, general Wikipedia contributor, please tell what those subjects might be. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 10:44, 5 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

331dot (talk) recently rejected my unlock request and indicated the reason as my continuation to violate the conflict of interest policy when I have indicated clear intentions to put disclaimer around the shared page if necessary. I would also like to clarify that I have not been paid by any individual or third party involved to put up a page about Mr. Shu Joshi. Mr. Joshi is an angel investor who is known for investments in healthcare and life science and is innovating for great impact. I simply wanted to create a page about him (please see this is not endorsed or paid by any person/business).In the future, I would like to continue updating information about entrepreneurs and investors working in the Indian eco-system in a totally independent capacity.

Decline reason:

No thanks. If you don't see a clear conflict of interest here then I'm afraid you lack sufficient competence to edit Wikipedia. Mr. Shu Joshi is the founder of LSV Group. Saying you aren't paid is, I'm afraid, a deliberate attempt to mislead us. Are you seriously expecting us to believe LSV Group doesn't pay you? Come off it. No, you won't be unblocked to write about any subject area for which you have a conflict of interest, and you won't be unblocked if you continue trying to mislead us in this manner. If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

I have again removed your duplicate post. You only need to make one unblock request, written in the larger edit window. The smaller window is meant to be an edit summary or section header, depending on whether you click "Edit" or "New Section" to edit this page. It is suggested that you simply click "Edit" to avoid creating unnecessary section headers. 331dot (talk) 11:41, 5 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Sure. Thanks for the clarification and deleting duplicated post. Could you please reconsider the unblock request. Thanks.

OK, much of what you say seems very nice and reasonable. You came to edit Wikipedia in your personal capacity, not as part of paid work, despite the connection between, on the one hand, the topic you chose to write about as an amateur, and, on the other hand, the work you do in your "day job". The whole thing is a big misunderstanding. Fine, so let's go ahead and unblock... Except that unfortunately that is not all. "I am looking after social media for LSV Group. We are trying to create a Wikipedia page for Mr. Shu Joshi..." Really? "We" are trying to create a Wikipedia page? Who are "we"? Could we be forgiven for thinking, in the context, that it means that you are not in fact working purely in your personal, amateur, capacity? Could we be forgiven for thinking, in the context, that it refers to your work for LSV Group? If not, why did you mention LSV Group at all? How are they relevant? And once you had, for some reason, gratuitously mentioned your work for LSV Group, despite the fact it has no connection whatever to your Wikipedia editing, why did you then, in the next sentence, use "we" in a way which anyone of even half way normal intelligence would read as referring to that work? And why did you mention "looking after social media" if, as you later said, your editing of Wikipedia is nothing to do with "looking after social media"? You must think we are stupid. And why did you say, above, "Nimisha Gupta On Behalf of Pharmonitor Business Media" if you are acting here purely in your personal capacity, not as part of your "day job" for Pharmonitor Business Media? You must think we are completely stupid. JBW (talk) Formerly JamesBWatson 10:22, 7 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • When I posted the message above, declining your latest unblock request, I seriously considered removing your talk page access, to prevent you from wasting yet more administrator time with your ridiculous unblock requests which are so transparently disingenuous that they have no chance at all of succeeding. I have not done so, but if I see one more piece of the same kind of nonsense I shall do so. JBW (talk) Formerly JamesBWatson 10:28, 7 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Yamla, please understand there is no deliberate attempt to mislead you or Wikipedia community.

It's not correct if you are indicating that my conflict of interest is because of my day job at LSV Group. I have not been tasked or paid to put up any page about Mr. Joshi on Wikipedia. My day job as a social media manager is about managing facebook, Linkedin and twitter presence. I don't even have Wikipedia as my remit as we don't recognize it as a social media channel. As an independent reader and repeated user of Wikipedia, I felt self obliged to draft an article about Mr. Joshi when I didn't find any this morning.

Still, as a Wikipedia expert, if you are not convinced and would like me to put a disclaimer around the article because of merely my professional affiliation with LSV Group, I am happy to do so. — Preceding unsigned comment added by PharmonitorBusinessMedia (talkcontribs)

You truly don't see any concern with WP:COI there?!? If so, this is the end of the line. --Yamla (talk) 12:14, 5 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I can understand your POV about potential COI but that in no way justifiable on your front to block my access to edit/add new information/drafts on Wikipedia. I will not contribute to any article around my professional affiliations if that's what required to process this unblock request.

Hi JB,

Well, it seems that you are overanalyzing the conversation. Before drafting the topic, I was discussing with a local colleague on how to set up an account and edit if someone new writer wants to add new information on Wikipedia so When widr blocked the account access, I was trying to explain why I created the account in the first place and used "we" in the writing flow. After that one of your colleagues mentioned COI so I clearly tried to describe my day job in order to clear any doubts. My job is to schedule posts and drive engagements on social media platforms like twitter, FB and LinkedIn. Wikipedia is not a social media channel.
