Done! Let me know if the problem resumes. -- 09:25, February 11, 2007 MrDarcy
RE:Dreamgirls
It's a very nice article, well referenced. Go for a peer review to flesh out the last problems, and then go for an FA. I could see it reaching FA before the end of the month. DoomsDay349 02:23, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
About me
Hi Real! I'm joining the english Wikipedia because there are lots of articles and another reason why I decided to join en.Wikipedia.org is because English is the international language and I also like this kind of language. Greetings! MM 10:43, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
Why did you unprotect I Love New York (TV series)?
Because it has been protected for over a month (which is getting excessive, and I've been clearing protection backlog for the last couple hours). Protection is not forever. It is a wiki, and protection always comes off eventually (- a few special cases where they have been protected in and out over 5 times in a year). Besides, everything is vulnerable to vandalism. Revert it and get over it. -Royalguard11(Talk·Desk·Review Me!) 04:17, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
- 1, WP:3RR doesn't include reverts to obvious vandalism. You can do unlimited of those in any period of time. 2, there are a lot of RC patrollers out there that watch many pages and revert random pages of vandalism, so it probably won't be just you. 3, resubmitting is up to you, but just asking for protection doesn't guarantee it's going to happen. -Royalguard11(Talk·Desk·Review Me!) 04:24, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
sorry
i am very sorry about my edit to the dream girls page. i did not realize this was vandalism. i only just join wikipedia and am still confused as to what i can do. it wont happen again... very sorry... —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Lamp99 (talk • contribs) 04:47, 16 February 2007.
Thanks for the message
I'll help out at AIV as much as I can :) As for the multilingual warnings project - sounds good, keep me posted :) Cheers, riana_dzasta 06:38, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
Re: User: Mr. Dercy
Indeed. :) Based on their MO, they appear to be a sockpuppet of the recently banned User:Starwars1955. Blocked indef. – Luna Santin (talk) 07:05, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks - good catch! Starwars1955 has been creating scads of new usernames that are a letter off from those of admins who've blocked him or voted to ban him. | Mr. Darcy talk 16:07, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
THANKS!
When I saw this, I totally cried. It is beautiful. Can it be named the Selket/Realbot? Real96 06:40, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you. I don't think I can change the name because of permissions, etc. Also, I will be adding other functions to the bot account in the future and don't want to have to maintain more than one account. I have added a note on SelketBot's user page thanking you, and I'm very sorry that I didn't do so sooner. --Selket Talk 14:56, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
- Can I also design the userpage, because it looks so -- blah! :-) Real96 15:31, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
response to your message
You left me a message saying something to the effect of, "Thanks for your test on I love New York (series). Your test worked, and now it's been removed. Please use the sandbox in the future." I object to this comment on several levels.
First, and most importantly, I see absolutely no reason to remove my edit. Who makes you more of an authority than me? I added one sentence that struck me as a very important one. WHY New York decides to eliminate someone is the ENTIRE POINT OF THE SHOW. Further, I wasn't running some sort of test. I didn't need to use the sandbox. I was contributing to the show's description.
Leaving a form message like that, and creating some sort of random unilateral approach to edits that don't meet your mysterious criteria, is exactly the sort of behavior that will turn users off to Wikipedia. I'm intelligent, a decent writer, and interested in contributing to Wikipedia. I don't understand your attitude and your condescension. I don't understand where it's coming from.
I have no interest in starting a revert/edit war, since I don't care enough to do so, but I want you to know that in the future, you may want to think a little more about the reverts you do and about the messages you leave on other people's pages.
- This edit violates no original research. The edit couldn't be verified, because there is not an external source. Real96 18:02, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
- I see no references on the page that could be the source of those episode summaries. Where are people getting them? The source must simply be the episode, itself. I reported *what happened* in the episode. It happened, or it didn't. Why you chose my particular contribution, as opposed to anyone else's, is a complete mystery. Lorettagrace
- Some episode summaries are based upon watching the episode and the main VH1 website. I reverted your edit because it was merely based upon opinion, rather than fact. Real96 17:57, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
- On the contrary. Tiffany/New York states, at the end of the episode, in so many words, that she eliminated Rico because he was too young. Watch the episode if you don't believe me. In fact, I was careful to word it that way; I did not say that she actually eliminated him for that reason, merely that this was *her explanation.* I would not impose my opinion. I believe this episode will air tonight at 1 am eastern time. If you get a chance, please tune in at approximately 10 minutes before the end and you will see that I am right. Please understand that I don't really care any more what the episode summary says. It's the principle of the thing. Lorettagrace

Thank you very much for the barnstar and stamp of approval for SelketBot. Feel free to redo the userpage, just keep the bot notice intact. --Selket Talk 18:11, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

Hi Miranda/B, you said on the descripton for WDefCon that the vandalbot is gone, was there one running recently and was the defcon moved to one because of this just in the past 24-48 hours? Please reply on my Talk Page, cheers. TellyaddictEditor review! 10:35, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
- I noticed that yesterday and I was just going to keep an eye out, also I am not cricising your actions in any way as you responded well to the VandalBot attack but when the WDefCon is moved to 2 it doesnt always mean a vandalbot attack, it just means it could be, sometimes it could just be coincidence that vandalism is high but that did seem to be a definite vandal attack and your quick response was excellent, really well done!TellyaddictEditor review! 19:24, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
Schedule
Can you please post a daily schedule of Selketbot's activities. I have noticed that there are a high level of edits from universities during the weekends and during school hours in America. Real96 19:27, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
- I don't keep summary statistics, but I could post the log files. I haven't done that yet because they are quite large. You could parse them to get the information you want. Would that be helpful to you? --Selket Talk 16:33, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

Alpha Kappa Alpha
Good catch, that's a pretty obvious sock. I've blocked him again. I really don't get the agenda here - why would anyone be so eager to disparage all of these African-American organizations? Anyway, thanks for the tip! | Mr. Darcy talk 20:36, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
i love ny
hey i was only protecting it for a brief moment because someone with an IP kept vandalizing it and i was trying to fix it and he kept vandalizing it, so i was doing that so i could fix it. my fault Mcoop06 03:20, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
ohh ok i didnt realize that. i should of put semi protected. that guy kept vandalizing the page it was making me mad lol. but thanks for letting me know. Mcoop06 03:24, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
At this point I'm going to say no, I don't think so. The IPs don't match what we know of Mykungfu, and so far s/he hasn't made the kind of POV-pushing edits that MKF keeps trying to make. But if you see something that makes you more suspicious, by all means let me know. | Mr. Darcy talk 15:41, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

I have removed the speedy {{db-bio}} from Amanda Walkus. Generally, my understanding is that bio speedies are reserved for articles that do not assert notability, and the article does assert such. Unfortunately, it appears to be a hoax. I'll keep an eye on it and send it through AfD if they don't provide references. Philippe Beaudette 05:30, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

AIV Reporting Bug
Yeah, I just noticed that too. I am using Vandal Proof and it just does that. I am also annoyed that Vandal Proof does not include an edit summary when reporting users on AIV. I just made a request on the request page for the addition of an edit summary. Now, I will report a bug with this weird % thing. My apologies, I hope it gets fixed soon. Cheers! De-aption
Hi there, I adopted you as part of the Wikipedia Adoption Programme a little while back, if its OK with you I'd like to de-adopt you as I think you have settled in nicely here and have ammassed 1500 edits in total, if you disagree I'll continue being your adopter but if you agree I will de-adopt you if you feel confident enough!Tellyaddict 11:08, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

Why the warning
Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing. However, unconstructive edits, such as those you made to Jamie Lynn Spears, are considered vandalism and immediately reverted. If you continue in this manner you may be blocked from editing without further warning. Please stop, and consider improving rather than damaging the work of others. Thank you. Real96 00:09, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
You messaged me saying this. However, the edit that I made was removing vandalism which was the following:
"Jamie lynn spears has bebo its http://x-pink-tooter-x.bebo.com check it out...."
I do not know why or how that is an unconstructive edit.
Also, I made another earlier revision because it said she was born in 1992, when she was really born in 1991. I have proof of that because her site says that she is 15, which if she was born in 1992, she would be 14.
Please respond back when you can. Thank you.
Omglamisasian 01:47, 26 February 2007 (UTC)omglamisasian
If you look in your history, you can tell that I messed up the comment at first.
- During this time, many vandalistic edits were occuring (i.e. page blankings with IP addresses), thus creating an edit conflict. Also, with the link, I don't think that's a reliable source to include into the article, because that is not an official website of JLS. I am going to remove the warning from your talk page, since you were acting in good faith. Real96 02:12, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
Thanks. Omglamisasian 03:15, 26 February 2007 (UTC)omglamisasian
I blocked the user 24 hours - reverting the page 3 times in 24 hours in two straight 24-hour periods is gaming the system, and still constitutes edit-warring in my book. Good work on the warnings, BTW; you escalated properly and got it to an admin's attention at the right time. | Mr. Darcy talk 02:21, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
