Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Happy editing! Cheers, Venkat TL (talk) 07:11, 6 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions. It seems that you may have added public domain content to one or more Wikipedia articles, such as Corruption in India. You are welcome to import appropriate public domain content to articles, but in order to meet the Wikipedia guideline on plagiarism, such content must be fully attributed. This requires not only acknowledging the source, but acknowledging that the source is copied. There are several methods to do this described at Wikipedia:Plagiarism#Public-domain sources, including the usage of an attribution template. Please make sure that any public domain content you have already imported is fully attributed. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 10:54, 8 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, thanks. I will try to do it, although I could not understand the use of attribution template. Is it enough to write in the References section that "This article incorporates text from this source, which is in the public domain?" Alternatively, can we put the text taken from the source in quotes while writing the article, as we do in editorial articles for newspapers? Rrthakur22 (talk) 11:38, 8 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
When you add material copied from another Wikipedia article, you need to cite the source used by the copied article to support the claim, as well as making mention of the copying in the edit summary, indicating which Wikipedia article is being copied. Note that a Wikipedia article is never a reliable source. This is because Wikipedia is user-generated, like IMdB, fandom and the like.--Quisqualis (talk) 04:33, 12 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please remember to assume good faith when dealing with other editors, which you did not do on Aam Aadmi Party. Thank you. Venkat TL (talk) 09:49, 18 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Your submission at Articles for creation: Twitter in India (August 10)

[edit]
Your recent article submission has been rejected. If you have further questions, you can ask at the Articles for creation help desk or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help. The reason left by Johannes Maximilian was: This submission is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. The comment the reviewer left was: As an encyclopedia, Wikipedia depicts what is considered to be established knowledge. There doesn't seem to be any exclusive coverage of the subject "Twitter in India" in secondary, independent reliable sources. The approach that has been chosen for this draft works with virtually any object in any place which immediately indicates that the draft is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Money laundering

[edit]

At Money laundering there is a section Notable cases. Referenced content about cases that occured in India should go there. Content should be limited to cases which are the topics of existing Wikipedia articles. P.S. All of your reverted content is available to be recovered and move to a more appropriate place. Discretionary Sanctions alert

[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

To opt out of receiving messages like this one, place {{Ds/aware}} on your user talk page and specify in the template the topic areas that you would like to opt out of alerts about. For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Venkat TL (talk) 08:09, 12 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I could not understand why my edits to the page Aam Aadmi Party removed. I had added information from reliable sources and that pertains to the topic, although it was critical information. Please restore the information under the Funding section. Rrthakur22 (talk) 14:25, 12 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The sanctions alert and an editor's decision to revert your referenced contributions are not connected. David notMD (talk) 09:31, 13 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@David notMD is right. This was an alert. Please read Discretionary sanctions#Guidance_for_editors to understand what it means. Venkat TL (talk) 14:54, 15 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Suspicion of conflict of interest

[edit]

Your concern appears to be about people who have a conflict of interest (paid or not paid) with a topic, your examples being political parties and politicians. Such editors can be asked to declare the situation (see WP:PAID and WO:COI. Either means that those editors should not edit the article directly, but instead make a request on the Talk page for a change. Requests are dealt with by non-involved editors. David notMD (talk) 13:22, 19 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Mentioning PAID and COI in your edit summary to MS was wrong place. Make a (more polite) statement on the Talk page of the article, as that is where it will be seen by other editors. Goal is consensus. David notMD (talk) 14:42, 19 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed! Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by KylieTastic was: Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.
KylieTastic (talk) 12:51, 28 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks @KylieTastic But announced today this is a developing event which has a lot of interest in India. And a similar sketchy page about this event was earlier allowed on the
the Indian National Congress presidential election, 2017. So, this is not a single-news event. Rather, it will develop very fast, as the election process proceeds. Please publish this page which cannot have more information at this stage. Rrthakur22 (talk) 13:09, 28 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Your correct that is a very sketchy page that really should have had more sources at least but their was less control of articles in 2017. If that is typical of the level of information on a Indian National Congress presidential election it would maybe more appropriate to have one article about all of them and the dated ones just as redirects. 2001 Indian National Congress presidential election is another trivial stub. It at least needs more than one source. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 13:40, 28 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I've just noticed 2022 Indian National Congress Presidential Election has already been created. KylieTastic (talk) 13:41, 28 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
This new page also does not have enough information but approved. So, you should have also approved my article. I have observed that there are plenty of inconsistencies and ad hoc approval process on Wikipedia. The approval depends on the whims of an editor rather than on clearly defined guidelines. This needs to be streamlined. If possible, please raise this issue among your fellow editors who reject articles instantly. Thanks. Rrthakur22 (talk) 13:48, 28 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

An article you recently created, Department of Registrar Cooperative Society Delhi, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Suggestion

[edit]

Your edit on Russian war crimes is arguably outside the scope of the article. If I may suggest, it may probably fit better in the International sanctions during the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. Would you agree to move said data there?--3E1I5S8B9RF7 (talk) 18:43, 13 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, thanks. You can move the content to the page you have suggested. Rrthakur22 (talk) 05:09, 14 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Rrthakur22. This message is being sent to inform you that a request for a contributor copyright investigation has been filed at Contributor copyright investigations concerning your contributions to Wikipedia in relation to Wikipedia's copyrights policy. The listing can be found here. Thank you. Maduant (talk) 12:45, 3 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I repeat what I just posted on the Copyright page. You can click here and click here to find the motivation behind this frivolous copyright request. I have followed all the Wikipedia rules for my contributions. And I won't be able to waste more of my time in disputing these dishonest complaints. Please do not remove or change any of my contributions and take action against this user @Maduant who has filed this ridiculous request. Rrthakur22 (talk) 13:10, 3 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I have examined this request. You copied content from [1] in violation of Wikipedia's copyright policy and your response to the complaint indicates you do not understand that this is problematic. Therefore:
Stop icon
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for violating copyright policy by copying text or images into Wikipedia from another source without evidence of permission. Please take this opportunity to ensure that you understand our copyright policy and our policies regarding how to use non-free content.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  MER-C 11:41, 19 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This is an arbitrarily imposed censorship without considering the argument (including a couple of links) that I had given above on 3 March 2023 to show the purpose behind the fake copyright complaint. This decision is arbitrary because I have never been communicated about the complaint, if any, from the sources that I have cited.
I have experienced attacks on my contributions to Wikipedia multiple times in the past because a few people with commercial interests do not want me to contribute to Wikipedia.
It is okay if I stop contributing to Wikipedia pages, but I strongly urge Wikipedia to normalize its working which is mostly driven by naive editors who may have hidden objectives to censor critical content.
Although it is a totally wrong decision to block me from editing Wikipedia pages, I do not have time to argue it further. However, if some honest Wikipedia editors are reading my statement(s) and response, they should intervene to study this whole case in order to save Wikipedia from nefarious elements. Thank you. Rrthakur22 (talk) 12:20, 19 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
As an uninvolved and AFAIK honest Wikipedian, I see no evidence that this block or copyright complaint has anything nefarious about it, or anything whatsoever to do with the events you linked to above. * Pppery * it has begun... 16:11, 25 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
