Sonia Gandhi

Hi, What makes you think Sonia Maino was born Sonia Maino ? She was born as Antonia Maino. What did she do at Cambridge ? Steven claims she did not go to Cambridge University yet that's what Sonia( Antonia Maino ) has been claiming.

Why is opposition party referred to as "Hindu Nationalist"? I corrected it since wikipedia does not allow opinions. It allows "FACTS". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.13.75.210 (talk) 04:12, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

Hartmut Gründler. new article /dec11 07. Help required

Hello, Jreferee. Since you offered assistance to authors of biographies I would like to describe what I have been doing and where I think I need some help. In January 2007 I started an an article on "Hartmut Gründler" in the German Wikipedia. (I knew the Gandhi-adherent Gründler since 1975 and cooperated with him until his fire suicide mid November 1977, which he committed out of protest against the misinformation of the German Government in its atomic energy policy. I keep an archive of his writings and documents about him [about 1000 documents listed up] and prepare to write a new biography of him. I have already published some of his writings, in 1997.) Some weeks ago I translated into English my wiki-text, which had been thoroughly revised by my German administrators, and started to put the stub into the English wikipedia. In the recent days I added the rest (two photoes still need to be inserted). My request now is: a) Could you have a look at my article? b) What have I to do to change the status of "stub-class" into the appropriate status of an ordinary article? c) Where can I find the guidelines for the additional insertion of the two envisaged photos, the one of the German text and a second one whose author I still have to find out. d) Could you help me with the correct wordings of the categories (which I simply copied from the German article)? e) Are there any further helpful suggestions you could make to enhance my article? With kind greetings, --Wilfried Huefler (talk) 11:25, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

Proposed article on Laurence Caruana

Hello Jreferee

I recently posted a stub for an article on Laurence Caruana. I posted it on the discussion page, awaiting some feedback before trying to post it as an article (I'm not sure if this was proper procedure - please advise). Could you please cast a sympathetic eye over it? I would greatly appreciate any advice you might have - particularly as I would like to post it without causing any issues. You can find the stub at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Laurence_Caruana

Thanks for your time and patience,

Jemecache (talk) 18:31, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

Thanks in advance,

Hello again,
It seems it was wrong to try posting a proposed article on Laurence Caruana on the discussion page - it was immediately deleted! Well, live n' learn.
I've now posted the proposed article in my sandbox. It can be found by going to [jemecache/sandbox]. Could you please cast an eye over it before I try to post it?
I also have a question. If (after I post it) someone tags the article with a template that questions notability, what is the usual procedure for responding? How long does the template remain, and who removes it? Can I remove it? Is it normal for someone to put a template, without at least discussing the issue first? So far, I haven't found a wiki policy that explains all this. - Thanks!

Image query

Hello Jreferee. You might remember me from a discussion we had regarding Image:NREAGANKISSCASKET1.jpg, a photo of Nancy Reagan kissing President Reagan's casket in the Capitol rotunda. During the undeletion discussion, the issue of the image being iconic was brought up; I would like to inquire as to what circumstances an image can be uploaded under fair use because it is 'iconic' (such as this image). The Nancy Reagan image certainly is iconic, and I believe it was deleted because, as you correctly pointed out, I had a lack of understanding Wikipedia's image policies. I'm much more in-tune now and feel it is time to revisit this issue, as User:IronGargoyle stated on the deletion review page. I was wondering if you could shed some light on how to do this. Thanks, Happyme22 (talk) 03:45, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

Help

I need help for making a menu for myself. Can you help me? 5faizan (talk) 18:12 4 February 2008

If you remember, you weighed in on the use of user pages to draft a future RFC, and whether such use might count as an attack page if not promptly converted from a personal on-wiki collection of evidence about a person into an actual RFC or ArbCom case. The above is an ongoing discussion of one such user page; part of the question is what counts as a "reasonable" period of time to bring the RFC or delete the draft. (Opinions differ from "a few days" to "several months.") The discussion seems to be floundering a bit on what this policy means, so, if you're interested, I thought you might have input to add. (If not, sorry to bug you.) Thanks. --TheOtherBob 15:29, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use Image:KateLorigPublicity.jpg

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:KateLorigPublicity.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast (talk) 13:23, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:TownTopicsLogo.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:TownTopicsLogo.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 02:12, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

Restore Article

Digital Paint: Paintball 2 has recently satisfied the general notability criteria (WP:N) by being featured in the PC Gamer UK magazine, as seen here. In several weeks, it will be on the magazine's main site, which will provide further proof of publication. Could this article please be restored? If not, what steps do I need to take for it to be possible?

I apologize if this isn't the correct place to request its restoration, here is the original deletion review. Thank you for your time. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.13.165.19 (talk) 21:49, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

A-class review of the William Stacy article

Hello Jreferee. Last summer you had kindly nominated the William Stacy article to appear under the Did you know... section. I’ve recently noticed that you are a member of WikiProject Biography, so I wanted to ask for your help (if you are interested). Since last summer, the William Stacy article achieved GA-class, and then underwent a biography peer review here. I submitted the article for a biography A-class review here during December, but there seems to be a lack of A-class reviewers. If you have the time, and if you are interested or inclined to review the article, I would appreciate. If not, no problem. Thank you, ColWilliam (talk) 01:47, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

Derek Smart WP:BLP article assistance

Hello, for sometime now, the Derek Smart article has come under various attacks. To the extent that most of the editors who seem to have tenure, are no longer even vetting the entries. For e.g. today I made various revisions under the WP:BLP guidelines and also left notes in the talk page. Another editor, SwatJester who has done such blanking before, simply came in and revert the change without so much as even reading it nor indicating why he did that. This is clearly abuse. If you read the changes I made, you will see that not only were they factual but also perfectly correct for a closely watched [WP:BLP] article. Can you help? Otherwise, its just going to end up being yet another revert war and with the erroneous data being left in place.Ho Lee Cow (talk) 15:11, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

Please view the Derek Smart Arbitration Case remedies, as well as Ho Lee Cow's contributions. It's extremely likely that this editor is a sockpuppet of Derek Smart. SWATJester Son of the Defender 18:37, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

Somatic Responses

I spent about fifteen minutes trying to find just the info on there, okay? This is not a snippet from the band page. This is information that is hard to find. I would consider you right, except that Somatic Responses are no less notable than Rabia Sorda - an another article on an indie electronic band that I created - and this article actually contains information that people can't just find without typing it into Google.
I hate this about you admins sometimes. You deleate articles on things just because you haven't heard of them. Stormchaser (talk) 01:52, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

Wait, never mind. The article that I saw deleted was one with different capitalization. Never mind. Tee hee. Stormchaser (talk) 01:52, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

Scott McGregor

Please do not delet the page for Australian model Scott McGregor. He is Australia's highest profile male model and there are no other resources on the internet that provide a valuable summary on the man himself. He is also a television presenter on Austrtalia's highest rating subscriber TV network. There are many far less noatble people with a Wikipedia entry, it would be a shame to see this page disappear. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Benjwilson (talkcontribs) 03:05, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

Censoring the Truth!!

Hello, seems sockpuppets associated with user Dbroamge and user Johnmc are trying to censor the TRUTH!!! Why is it necessary to courtesy blank? Why is Johnmc turning a blind eye? [1]. Fundie Blaster (talk) 07:28, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

Project Narnia

Hello, when you moved Project Narnia into the Project Novels space, there were some subpages that were not moved. How do we go about adding them back to the project? LloydSommerer (talk) 14:41, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

Deleted Page: Characters, World War Z

I did a good deal of work on this page, trying to connect the characters with the Real World (tm) elements satirized. I thought that that was the point of being "notable" but perhaps I have misunderstood. I have to say I don't spend a great deal of time on Wikipedia; mostly I came to see what my students were cribbing (!) and have edited a few pages. I found the deletion of my contribution somewhat disconcerting. I believe that you were the person who deleted it and I hope you can put it back again or at least let me know why you don't like it.
