RevDel[edit]

AIV is not the place to request revdel - please do not do that again. --Rschen7754 06:00, 2 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

So where is it? Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 06:03, 2 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Request it on the talk page of an admin, or use #wikipedia-en-revdel on IRC. If something needs revdel, do not draw a lot of attention to it, as that defeats the purpose of revdel. --Rschen7754 06:07, 2 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Or WP:OVERSIGHT which suppresses it so even we can't see it - "used within strict limits to remove defamatory material, to protect privacy, and sometimes to remove serious copyright violations". Dougweller (talk) 18:50, 2 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

sock puppetry.[edit]

Thanks for thinking I'm stupid. If I were to have a sock puppet (wait for it, I've got at least six!!!!11!!oneone!1!) I'd be a bit smarter about how I went about it.

I look forward to your apology when you realise that I'm not actually stupid. **** you, you ******* ****. (talk) 14:50, 4 May 2013 (UTC) It also occurs to me that you are asking Wikipedia to invade my privacy (that's what checkuser is, isn't it, seeing what IP addresses have been used). And if I do have sockpuppets (something that is legitimate, and that does not have to be justified) these are likely to come up, even if I wished to keep them separate. Thanks again (and just in case, that was a sarcastic thanks). **** you, you ******* ****. (talk) 14:55, 4 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I've seen plenty of stupid sockers, so that wouldn't be unusual. Whether or not a case has merit is for admins to decide, and if they decide I erred then that's fine with me and should be fine with you. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 22:04, 4 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Women in Astronomy and Space Sciences Edit-a-thon - Tucson, AZ - You are invited!
Sally Ride was the first American woman in space and a champion of girls and women everywhere. Ride would have turned 62 on May 26th had the world not lost her to pancreatic cancer last July. To honor her enduring legacy, Arizonans and all attendees of SpaceFest are invited to gather on her birthday to edit and create Wikipedia entries on notable women in astronomy and the space sciences. Seb, you have recently reverted my edit that merely made wikilink text match the name of the article it pointed to, avoiding a redirect and a potentially controversial term ("illegal immigrant" vs. "undocumented immigrant", the latter being the title of the article). Can you please help me better understand the reason for this revert, and point me to the appropriate guideline(s)? Thank you, Dandv(talk|contribs) 22:43, 14 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The article was moved by the sock of an idef-blocked user; reverted, thus link was reverted as well. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 19:18, 15 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Could you elaborate on that: [2]? The edit summary "mosbio n/a" makes little sense. "Wikipedia is not a place for nationalistic pride. Flags are visually striking, and placing a national flag next to something can make its nationality or location seem to be of greater significance than other things." --Omnipaedista (talk) 10:52, 19 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

None of the points you link to is applicable here, unless I missed one. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 10:54, 19 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The slightly more accurate citation is: MOS:ICON: Flags: Inappropriate use: "Do not emphasize nationality without good reason" (I cited the exact text in my previous comment). Per MOS I am going to undo your revert. --Omnipaedista (talk) 11:04, 19 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The good reason is that he was/is the leader of the nation. Do not revert. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 11:06, 19 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Then why should the American flag be kept? In any case, flag icons are no longer accepted in biographical infoboxes in Wikipedia. Exceptions include only military persons (having allegiance to a nation state) and athletes (representing a nation state). If you will, I could open a thread at the MOS talk page. --Omnipaedista (talk) 11:17, 19 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Please take a look at this thread here. --Omnipaedista (talk) 11:55, 19 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

PROTEST[edit]

On this Wikipedia hard to offend some people and their national languages, ignoring the facts and international documents. The fact that the Serbian and Croatian two different standard languages, here it does not matter how big the difference is, it deals with linguistics.

Problem:

  1. Ignoring the internationally recognized language:

Hoping to understand your map[edit]

Hi. You uploaded a file at Wikicommons called DineBikeyahBe'elyaigii.svg and entered a caption: "Diné Bikéyah be?elyaaígíí". I am not American so I cannot read this. Would you please add a description in English describing the map when you have a moment, and I would appreciate a brief explanation of the colour coding that you used as well (there are two shades of salmon at west and east). I would also appreciate an explanation of the enclave ("hole") in the centre of the Navajo territory if you know why it is there. I scanned the Navajo Nation article searching for an understanding of the shading and of the enclave, but I did not see any gloss on these features. Thank you. — O'Dea (talk) 14:53, 7 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I'm writing to you because of your past involvement with the Urumqi riots in 2009. There was a major knife attack in Kunming. Death toll somewhere between 29 and 34, about 140 injuries as of most recent reports. It's looking likely that the attack is associated with the Uyghur independence movement although the situation is obviously cloudy. Editors with experience working on Han / Uyghur conflict would be appreciated to make sure we stick to WP:RS and avoid WP:RECENTISM while this situation unfolds. Hi, Seb. There's currently a report about User:Navajoindian on WP:ANI. It would be helpful if you have time to take a look at it. Bishonen | talk 00:38, 22 April 2014 (UTC).[reply]

FYI, after the discussion at ANI last month, the user went quiet for a while. Yesterday, the same pattern of editing resumed. Three articles were edited. All of these edits were reverted as unsourced (by three different users, including one revert by me). One of those reverts was later partly restored by the reverting user.—BarrelProof (talk) 15:29, 10 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Why?[edit]

You randomly added several delete-tags with the {{ }} at the Gothic wikipedia but common, you added it to this picture of Asia: https://got.wikipedia.org/wiki/%F0%90%8D%86%F0%90%8C%B4%F0%90%8C%B9%F0%90%8C%BB%F0%90%8C%B0:%F0%90%8C%B0%F0%90%8D%83%F0%90%8C%B9%F0%90%8C%B0.jpg

And this same picture can be found at Google among images which are free to use: https://www.google.nl/search?q=asia&client=ubuntu&hs=cdb&es_sm=93&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=nNnXVOq-NqbXyQOz-oCoCQ&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAQ&biw=1050&bih=685#q=asia&tbm=isch&tbs=sur:fc

DREAM Act[edit]

Hey Seb. I noticed you were one of the top editors for the DREAM Act wiki page. My friend and I are trying to help US constituents form opinions on bills, vote on them, track their representation, and influence the decisions of their reps. The legislation summaries we're getting from the Library of Congress aren't very approachable. As an example, we already edited down the LoC summary of the DREAM Act of 2017 on our site, and it's still not great. Our goal with summaries on our site is to help an average American form an unbiased opinion on a piece of legislation in 3-10 minutes of reading. Would you have any interest in helping us simplify these summaries for American voters? Vf-lee (talk) 21:54, 20 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
