Covid-19 India pages

Hi Shanze1 (talk · contribs)

I see you have been putting your valuable inputs for a few Covid-19 related pages. Can you please help us updating any of the following pages on Coronavirus in Indian regions(States & UTs):-

Thanks,Vikram Maingi (talk) 07:58, 22 May 2020 (UTC)

Vikram maingi, Hi, yes I will surely consider those regions as well. But right now, I'm looking to make maps for highly affected regions. After finishing those, I'll see what I can do for the regions you've suggested. Thanks. Shanze1 (talk) 08:08, 22 May 2020 (UTC)

Hey Shanze1, I see you are updating maps with scripts or something. If its not much to ask, can you update similarly for the maps I added in commons? - Timbaa -> ping me 15:48, 17 May 2020 (UTC)

Timbaaa Yes, I was planning to do it from tomorrow. It's not a huge deal. I'll update them as well. Shanze1 (talk) 15:59, 17 May 2020 (UTC)
Shanze1, Thank you. 2 maps related to TN, 1 for each Guj, AP, UP - Timbaa -> ping me 16:03, 17 May 2020 (UTC)
Timbaaa Oh.. if for other states you've made too, I might need more time and bit of your help. For the script to identify districts, you give it an id. So, can you tag the district names in the svg with their abbreviated ids and give me. That would help a lot for me to start. You can use inkscape to do this. Shanze1 (talk) 16:08, 17 May 2020 (UTC)
Shanze1, Take your time. I know UP map already has district ids. You take a look at current maps and tell me what to do. And I'm not that fluent with Inkscape. - Timbaaa -> ping me 16:19, 17 May 2020 (UTC)

Timbaaa Great, I'll check UP. For other two, you can do it in inkscape: if you look at the right pane, there should be a bunch of collapsed menus like layers, swatches, erc. Find object properties there. And you'll see id, label, etc there. Select a district with the select tool and enter its value in the "id" field. Press set and that's all. You can use the Wikipedia lists to refer the district abbreviations. Let me know if you need any help. Thanks. Shanze1 (talk) 16:35, 17 May 2020 (UTC)

Shanze1, c:File:India Gujarat COVID-19 map.svg is updated with names as their ids. I couldn't find abbreviations. For names, c:File:Administrative map of Gujarat.png is used as reference. - Timbaaa -> ping me 02:35, 18 May 2020 (UTC)
Shanze1, c:File:India Andhra Pradesh COVID-19 map.svg is updated with names as their ids. For names, used the tabular list from List of districts of Andhra Pradesh. - Timbaaa -> ping me 02:48, 18 May 2020 (UTC)
cool. That should work. I'll take a look. Shanze1 (talk) 03:05, 18 May 2020 (UTC)
Shanze1, Awesome job with the maps. Thank you - Timbaaa -> ping me 08:42, 20 May 2020 (UTC)
Timbaaa, No worries. Reusing the script for them was not as hard. Thanks for your help with the ids too. Shanze1 (talk) 09:17, 20 May 2020 (UTC)

HeyShanze1, just letting you know about this: Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_COVID-19#Continued_discussion_on_standardizing_map_format. May be you already know about it. - Timbaaa -> ping me 14:16, 22 May 2020 (UTC)

Timbaaa, Thanks, I did notice them discussing colours earlier but not this one. Will take a look. Shanze1 (talk) 14:32, 22 May 2020 (UTC)
Timbaaa Hi, please share your views there too. I'm really conflicted with my opinions. So I'll just follow what's decided there. Shanze1 (talk) 17:20, 22 May 2020 (UTC)
Shanze1, I am no expert in that area. I'll see what I can do. - Timbaaa -> ping me 04:48, 23 May 2020 (UTC)

Ways to improve Tamil Nadu Global Investors Meet

Hello, Shanze1,

Thank you for creating Tamil Nadu Global Investors Meet.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

Outside of India nobody knows what crores and lakhs are. The article needs to be reworded to describe numbers in standard metric format.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Mccapra}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.
