Disambiguation link notification for August 4
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Scandroid, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Neo Tokyo (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Opting in to VisualEditor
As you may know, VisualEditor ("Edit beta") is currently available on the English Wikipedia only for registered editors who choose to enable it. Since you have made 50 or more edits with VisualEditor this year, I want to make sure that you know that you can enable VisualEditor (if you haven't already done so) by going to your preferences and choosing the item, "MediaWiki:Visualeditor-preference-enable
". This will give you the option of using VisualEditor on articles and userpages when you want to, and give you the opportunity to spot changes in the interface and suggest improvements. We value your feedback, whether positive or negative, about using VisualEditor, at Wikipedia:VisualEditor/Feedback. Thank you, Whatamidoing (WMF) (talk) 20:26, 11 October 2013 (UTC)

Music videos
YouTube links don't belong anywhere on a discography and they are tacky anyway. The album column is only used for sections like singles and guest appearances. See Depeche Mode discography for example, along with literally every discography I've cleaned up and expanded over the past year. Infex (talk) 22:40, 25 December 2013 (UTC)
- Wikipedia:Video links "Linking to online videos can be acceptable if it is demonstrated that the content was posted by the copyright holder or with their permission." The links are linked to rightful copyright holders and are relevant to the discography, also some music videos to songs are not singles so how to people know unless they check through every album to find the song? The only column I understand that is ok to delete would be the type of music video but that tells the audience what music video that is since they all have their differences, so the links and albums should remain at most since they are relevant. And tacky? They are organised still, explain how they are tacky. - SilentDan297 talk 20:30, 28 December 2013 (UTC)
Edit summaries
Hi Dan, This is just a request that you remember to use edit summaries. For a short edit like adding the British-English tag to talk pages, it is very easy to just copy and paste the edit as the summary - but it's much easier for your fellow editors to see what you did. Thanks! LadyofShalott 17:40, 2 January 2014 (UTC)

Please add back multiple references for Joey Sturgis wiki page
Please do not remove extra references from the credentials on my page, you are making the article WEAKER by doing this. Please go back and re-add any references you removed.Joeyismusic (talk) 16:01, 20 March 2014 (UTC)
- @Joeyismusic: All of the references that are there are reliable and do not degrade the articles strength, and also some of the references, such as the Property Of Zack website, are classed as unreliable. If you want to re-add them then please do so, however please take note of the list of reliable sources. Although these are for album articles, they pretty much apply to most musical articles. SilentDan297 talk 17:20, 20 March 2014 (UTC)
- You did remove credible sources, such as altpress.net, Punknews.org, AbsolutePunk.net, Blabbermouth.net which are all contained on the list of credible sources. Thus, you have done damage to the document. I am suggesting that you fix the damage you have done by re-adding the credible sources. Joeyismusic (talk) 16:05, 23 March 2014 (UTC)
- @Joeyismusic: As I just said, the sources on the article now are all reliable, by adding more sources we are only backing up what already exists. The reason for the removal is because it would have taken me too long as I completely re-organised the tables, making them sortable and so on, and the sources provided did not have the details on them, such as the website, date accessed, author etcetera, so If you feel as though it needs more sources, then you are welcome to add them yourself, I do not see any problems with the current formatting. The Hunting Party genre
As I said in the edit summary, it is okay to have a generalized genre (hip hop, rock, metal, pop, electronica), until the album is released as long as it is not very controversial. Such as, you would not be able to do that for bands like Gorillaz, due to the experimental nature of their work. Linkin Park however, have repeatedly said it will feature a rock sound (seemingly dropping all that electronic crap), so we can say rock until the album was released and people wanna argue about whether it is rap-rock/alt metal/nu metal/alt rock etc. Until then, rather then have a not very informative infobox, we can add rock, since they are a rock band afterall. STATic message me! 19:36, 12 April 2014 (UTC)
- @STATicVapor: Apologies, I didn't see your edit summaries previously on the album, I will avoid making this mistake again.
BTW, their previous albums which contained their electronic elements where awesome! There was nothing wrong with them! They where not crap! SilentDan297 talk 19:48, 12 April 2014 (UTC)
- No worries brother, it is all good. I can completely understand why you removed it if you had not seen my edit summary. Also thanks for tagging all the uncited content on the Motionless in White page. In the future you can also tag the page with Template: Refimprove, or Template: BLP sources (for BLPs), for pages that are severely lacking in sources such as that one, rather then going through and tagging every single uncited statement. However, it is good to still tag extremely controversial ones singularly even if you use the template. As for what you just added, yeah maybe that is just on me for not listening to the whole albums, I only listened to the singles. Maybe I just prefer their rap-rock/nu metal work way more. STATic message me! 20:00, 12 April 2014 (UTC)
- @STATicVapor: You're welcome! I will keep those templates in mind next time, and yeah I'm a huge Linkin Park fan, and a lot of old fans hated those albums for no good reason, If anything I hate Guilty all the Same most as it just doesnt sound like them at all, it sounds more like Avenged Sevenfold or something, its so different to me, I hope the albums much better because this song annoys me. SilentDan297 talk 20:06, 12 April 2014 (UTC)
- Yeah me too, one of my all time favorite bands. As for GATS, too much guitar and not enough Mike Shinoda in my opinion lol. It sounds too much like generic, mainstream hard rock, even though I do enjoy the song's refrain. I also wish they would have left more room for Rakim to spit a full on verse, instead of a rushed bridge. All in all, it is a decent song, but I have faith that the album will be better. STATic message me! 20:51, 12 April 2014 (UTC)
- @STATicVapor: I completely agree, very generic and I also though Chester didn't use his usual vocals, he seemed to have been putting in a similar vocal technique to that of Stone Temple Pilots opposed to his Linkin Park vocals, to be honest I could have mistaken GATS as a STP song if I wasn't told that it was Linkin Park, but I too have faith in the album. Replaceable fair use File:We Are harlot band image.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:We Are harlot band image.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ronhjones (Talk) 21:51, 5 June 2014 (UTC)
- Unfortunately the file is replaceable, there are various different images floating around of the band but none of them are free to use. Should it be deleted? I though that it would be OK to use if there was no other alternative. I am still very much a rookie when it comes to adding photos. SilentDan297 talk 23:14, 5 June 2014 (UTC)

Input needed at genre discussion
Hey there, could you give your input for the addition of alternative metal to the infobox at The Hunting Party? There's been disputes over genres lately, so I'm trying to establish a consensus for alternative metal to be listed alongside the current genres (hard rock and rap rock). Here is the thread for the poll: Talk:The Hunting Party (album)#Genre Poll Kokoro20 (talk) 10:18, 19 June 2014 (UTC)
Community consensus
Hi there. Please discuss major changes to articles in the talk page prior to your edits. Thank you. 93.135.12.4 (talk) 16:38, 19 June 2014 (UTC)
- The problem with your edit is that they contain both good and bad edits: on the one hand you have nicely organized sections like the "repercussions in social media", and on the other hand you removed well sourced content like genres, and you left your favourite version of the genres unsourced in the infobox. Usually, this is what genre warriors like to do: remove well sourced genres, and add unsourced genres. 93.135.12.4 (talk) 16:44, 19 June 2014 (UTC)
- In that case your means of simply reverting the whole thing is simply a bad edit, instead of making corrections where I may have gone wrong, you instead revert the whole thing, despite the improvements, that's just lazy editing. If you want to discuss the changes I have made further, then discuss it on the talk page. SilentDan297 talk 16:55, 19 June 2014 (UTC)
- It is not my responsibility to correct your lazy editing. It is your responsibility to provide reliable sources for your edits. 93.135.12.4 (talk) 17:02, 19 June 2014 (UTC)
- This will be my last attempt trying to discuss with you without having to contact the admins. Please do not add unsourced material into the said article, and please do not remove sourced material out of the article. If you want to add "vocals" to the the 2 other members of the band, it is because you will provide a reliable source for it the way WP:BURDEN stipulates. Thank you. 93.135.12.4 (talk) 18:58, 19 June 2014 (UTC)
- Seriously? Did you not read the reason for me changing it from screamers to vocals? It is currently unsourced that they are screamers in the group. SilentDan297 talk 19:02, 19 June 2014 (UTC)

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. So you don't approve of images either then? Idensai (talk) 17:37, 21 July 2014 (UTC)
- Please elaborate I don't understand what you are trying to say. I do approve of the images just that the logo seemed to have fitted in the history section more than the infobox, if you disagree by all means move it back, I just think an image of the duo themselves would be better in the infobox. SilentDan297 talk 22:25, 21 July 2014 (UTC)
- Sorry man it's just that people have been adding and removing that same image over the last year, I don't understand why you wouldn't replace it with something more suited after removing it is all. As for the approval comment, I don't understand why people keep removing the unreleased section from the article. Rather than reverting it to a redirect, you helped the article and provided several sources and saved me a lot of work while I was busy. Thank you! :) I think you did a better job than I would've.DannyMusicEditor (talk) 01:45, 25 July 2014 (UTC)
- @DannyMusicEditor: Thank you, the album has been released and considering the previous album charted it would seem inevitable that this one will also chart so instead of reverting to a redirect I figured it would be more efficient to expand the article ready for it to chart, that way it will be considered notable and we wouldn't have to start the article from the ground up again. Babymetal (album)
"Gimme Chocolate" wasn't a single. See the talk page (the part that was already archived). I've explained there that Japanese artists often release music videos for albums. It's like this: 1. Physical CD sales are still big in Japan. 2. On a new album, they try to include some new song that stands out as a hit. 3. In order to promote the song (and the whole album) they shoot a music video for the song. As I said, by promoting the song, they promote the whole album. 4. If someone wants to have this song, he has to buy the album. Look at the description, they are inviting people to buy the album: [2]. --Moscow Connection (talk) 20:13, 10 August 2014 (UTC)
- @Moscow Connection: So does every music video... music videos typically advertise the product the song originates form, be it a single or an album track, many artists do this so I'm not sure why this is the case. It's not something I'm willing to go into since we are still discussing about changes on the Babymetal article after all, the album is later on my to-do list. If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. --Moscow Connection (talk) 14:03, 28 July 2014 (UTC)
- @Moscow Connection: If anything this notice should be on your talk page, you are being very stubborn on this article and are not complying to the discussions on its talk page, please discuss on the talk page before you force your edits onto the article like you have been doing.

I will ensure you are blocked. You have already reverted several times cause your yesterday's edits are reverts. --Moscow Connection (talk) 16:18, 5 August 2014 (UTC)

Hi!
Hi Dan, if I'm right. About the term "Radio Edit" for "Guilty All the Same" by Linkin Park, perhaps it's time that I realize that you and Serge were right, even STATicVapor. Next time, please be kind and positive to me about the subject, not offensive. I would sincerely appreciate that. My apologies for the way I acted in the past, but when I download the song from my laptop, I never use the term "radio edit". Instead, I continue to use "Radio Edit" because it's the right punctuation for a version of a song by a musician or a band. I never had a reason why I didn't want "radio edit" to appear on the article. It was difficult, in fact. I hope that we can get along and get to know each other again sometime in the future. And if you want to, please leave a good message on my talk page, like Golu7276 does from here on out. I will remove them if they are offensive or threatening. Thank you, and I hope you can forgive me for the way I acted back then. Skylar3214 10:41, 2 August 2014
Achievement Hunter
Hi, I saw you on the Achievement Hunter Talk page and wanted to ask you about a article I am making, Draft:Achievement Hunter. I think this would be a suitable page for AH, especially since the main Rooster Teeth section about AH has been trimmed ALOT. Any thoughts on my article would be great! Please post them HERE EoRdE6 (talk) 18:40, 21 October 2014 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for December 14
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Asking Alexandria, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Jonathan Davies. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
