Interwiki problem in 770

[edit]

The 770 article had a iw link yo yi:ליובאוויטש#770_.D7.91.D7.99.D7.AA_.D7.97.D7.99.D7.99.D7.A0.D7.95. This is a mistake and I romoved the iw from all the languages today, yet your bot put it back in the english version. Is this a general bot bug and I should expect more bots to do the same mistake? DGtal 22:11, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about that. It was a human error and I don't think you should expect more of the same. - Soulkeeper 23:48, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It seems to have repeated itself (User:Escarbot did it this time). If you have any good ideas how to fix it, I wiil be thankful. DGtal 19:23, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, I see it now. yi:770 is a redirect to that page. The redirect should be removed or changed. If not, the problem will most likely occur again. I will try to make my bot remove the interwiki links now. - Soulkeeper 17:35, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Robot removed zh wikilink!

Your robot removed zh wikilink from the page Acanthuridae. Can you please check the edit history below and adjust your robot?

Thanks. Fred Hsu 05:17, 27 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is very strange. My bot refuses to accept that the zh. page exists. I think I'll have to report this to the pywikipedia developers as a bug. - Soulkeeper 11:28, 27 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I reported the problem, and I received this link as an explanation: User_talk:Tuvic#TuvicBot -.3E zh-interwikis. - Soulkeeper 19:06, 27 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, that makes sense. I normally use Traditional Chinese. Thanks for fixing. You may want to quickly go over change summary of articles to make sure we catch all such incorrect changes :) Fred Hsu 14:58, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, I'll check whenever a zh* interwiki link is removed. - Soulkeeper 16:29, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I made an edit of your redirect of the HTC Titan, you had it redirecting to the TyTN which is a different device, the Titan is a CDMA device, TyTN is a GSM device, with completely different chipsets, the only similarity between the 2 devices is the form factor which with HTC isnt too uncommon —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.245.1.207 (talk) 06:22, 5 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I changed it into a disambiguation page. - Soulkeeper 09:25, 5 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry but im new to wikipedia editing, but there is a small article about the titan, you may want to re-do the page to link to it, the page lists it as the HTC mogul, which is the name of the device under sprint branding66.245.1.207 12:04, 8 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Do you mean the HTC Titan disambiguation page? What should I do with it? - Soulkeeper 12:05, 8 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wikimania 2010 could be coming to Stockholm!

[edit]

I'm leaving you a note as you may be interested in this opportunity.

People from all six Nordic Wiki-communities (sv, no, nn, fi, da and is) are coordinating a bid for Wikimania 2010 in Stockholm. I'm sending you a message to let you know that this is occurring, and over the next few months we're looking for community support to make sure this happens! See the bid page on meta and if you like such an idea, please sign the "supporters" list at the bottom. Tack (or takk), and have a wonderful day! Mike H. Fierce! 08:20, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sølensjøen

[edit]

Heja Soulkeeper. I just came across this article and noticed that you re-redirected it to the Norwegian spelling. While I'm completely fine with that, I just wanted to let you know that someone else left a note on the author's talk page, demanding that a transcription according to WP:ENGLISH be applied. This says that we should use English place names whenever there exists a common one or if it is widely used in English language sources. For the Norwegian province though I would agree that we can naturally use the local names, including ø and æ. Moreover I was tempted to reply that those are in fact Latin letters and need not be transliterated. ;) My 2 øre, De728631 (talk) 17:11, 30 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank for your 2 øre. I understand the need to keep the characters "cleanly" English, but I've seen that many Scandinavian names on enwp include Ø. Examples: , Førde, Høvik, Møre, Sør-Trøndelag, Sørreisa, Sørøya, Tromsø, Vadsø, Vardø, Ø, Østensjø and so on. If Sølensjøen was to be called Solensjoen, It would also be etymologically ugly, as "Sølen" is probably derived from "Sølna" which is a local name which might possibly mean "the mud", while "Solen" means "the sun". For the "sjøen/sjoen" part of the name, this is not a problem, as "sjøen" means "the lake" or "the sea", while "sjoen" means absolutely nothing at all. - Soulkeeper (talk) 13:50, 7 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Fish tubercolosis

[edit]

Hello Soulkeeper, this is a message from an automated bot to inform you that the page you created on May 7 2010, Fish tubercolosis, has been marked for speedy deletion by User:Baffle gab1978 (note: page has no mainspace links, and 3 edits). This has been done because the page is a recently created redirect from an implausible typo or misnomer (see CSD). If you think the tag was placed in error, please add "{{hangon}}" to the page text, and edit the talk page to explain why the page should not be deleted. If you have a question about this bot, please ask it at User talk:SDPatrolBot II. If you have a question for the user who tagged the article, see User talk:Baffle gab1978. Thanks, - SDPatrolBot II (talk) on behalf of Baffle gab1978 (talk · contribs) 05:53, 8 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Faraz Kureishi has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The band, Wajood, seems to have received some coverage such as [1], but Kureishi does not seem to meet GNG or MUSICBIO

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. decltype (talk) 09:10, 28 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Eric Arthur Tomlinson requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
