AfD nomination of Ted Burnett

[edit]

I have nominated Ted Burnett, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ted Burnett. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. February 2008

[edit]

You should wait for others to write an article about subjects in which you are personally involved. This applies to articles about you, your achievements, your band, your business, your publications, your website, your relatives, and any other possible conflict of interest.

Creating an article about yourself is strongly discouraged. If you create such an article, it might be listed on articles for deletion. Deletion is not certain, but many feel strongly that you should not start articles about yourself. This is because independent creation encourages independent validation of both significance and verifiability. All edits to articles must conform to Wikipedia:No original research, Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, and Wikipedia:Verifiability.

If you are not "notable" under Wikipedia guidelines, creating an article about yourself may violate the policy that Wikipedia is not a personal webspace provider and would thus qualify for speedy deletion. If your achievements, etc., are verifiable and genuinely notable, and thus suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later. (See Wikipedia:Wikipedians with articles.) Thank you. Mayalld (talk) 15:43, 20 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to write an article about yourself, you may find this is a more suitable wiki. Cheers Paul20070 (talk) 16:41, 20 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Would Jesus Christ be deleted during his day?

[edit]

My works are based on the same spiritual principles of truth as Jesus, Thomas Jefferson's Declaration of Indepedence, Lincoln's Gettysburg Address and Father Anthony de Mello's teachings. All in death have a page on this great site. I ask, "Based on Wikipedia's criteria would Christ with his radical teachings even make this site while still alive in the Holy Land?" How about one hundred years after his death?

My works speak for themselves by finally explaning the "notion" of original sin and pointing out the cyclical concept of freedom and slavery. They are, both, Earth-shathering and worthy of a exposure and access to the public. Wiki's open architecture seems pretty closed to the freedom of speech in this case. Let the user decide. Have you stopped to even read the very first one? Isn't this argument for deletion a superficial one? Where is the reward for simply being anonymous in a celebrity-promoted culture? Is that what is making people so-called experts and driving this decision on whether to keep or dump someone? Pretty foolish. I know this one thing to be true of our society -- it lacks wisdom. Does this site?

Ted Burnett

Art by a genius

[edit]

Would this gallery reject great artwork simply because the artist is unknown?

The meat of a cocunut is on its inside and not merely on the hard surface. One must take a wack at it to crack it open and taste its sweet juices. So is the case with my works and me. This case requires taking a deeper look before quickly rendering a judgment. For everyone's sake, I hope you will.
