Hello, TheWave, and welcome to Wikipedia!

Thank you for experimenting with our encyclopedia. The test edit you made worked, and it has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you may want to do.

Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Hopkins School declined speedy deletion

[edit]

as this is a long standing, well established article and I certainly don't see the nonsense. Cheers, Dlohcierekim 22:07, 1 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on My Life Is Average requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for web content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Lewinsky scandal

[edit]

The naming convention for articles, WP:NC, says that titles should reflect the most common usage. Page moves, especially of well-developed articles, should be discussed first. I've started a thread at Talk:Clintogate#Page move: "Lewinsky scandal" -> "Clintogate" to discuss your recent move. Please give your input there.   Will Beback  talk  21:56, 8 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Adoption

[edit]

Thanks for your note. I haven't adopted any users before so I'd be a poor "adopter". FYI, I didn't notice that you reverted vandalism on Gandalf, which is good, but you actually ended up just restoring other vandalism. It's always worth checking to make sure that a revert is really an improvement. Sometimes we have to dig deeper to find the original vandalism.   Will Beback  talk  00:59, 9 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You requested speedy deletion of this page on the grounds that it had been created by a banned user. While Ipodnano4334 has been blocked indefinitely, and may even have been banned (although I don't see them on Wikipedia:List of banned users), the user talk page was not created by User:ImageTaggingBot, which as far as I can tell is a bot in good standing. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 03:42, 12 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

US order of precedence

[edit]

You may have been confused by the earlier presentation in the lede or by the way it is used in the various BLPs. The order or precedence is a ceremonial, diplomatic ordering of many different groups, including foreign heads of state and ambassadors. At some time in the past it was given a description that implied more of a hierarchy and the content seems to have bent to track that description. Please check the sources if you doubt this. Thanks, Celestra (talk) 18:38, 15 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You are new here, so you might not be aware of these two useful practices. Don't call content you don't agree with "vandalism" or "lies". Assume good faith, even when you disagree. Also, don't template someone for not using reliable sources without taking a moment to verify those sources. Thanks, Celestra (talk) 19:02, 15 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I am not criticizing you, I am giving you some useful advice for interacting with your fellow editors. Simply reverting is not useful. Read the talk page. Read the other sources. Discuss your reasoning on that articles talk page. Celestra (talk) 19:14, 15 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You are being disruptive

[edit]

Please desist. I understand that you think you are in the right, but you are are not. I am allowed to blank any portion of "my" user talk page. Blanking is an indication that whatever was written has been read and, in this case, benefits both of us. I see you accepted adoption. Please go talk to that user about what you are doing. The next step, if you continue to be disruptive, is that I will discuss this with your adopter and then at ANI. Again, you are welcome here and I dismiss all of this to inexperience, but it has to stop now. Celestra (talk) 20:58, 15 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Block message:

Autoblocked because your IP address was recently used by "MyOhMyWhatABOYGenius4". The reason given for MyOhMyWhatABOYGenius4's block is: "Vandalism-only account".

Decline reason: You're caught fair and square. You're now blocked directly for abusing multiple accounts. --jpgordon::==( o ) 21:32, 15 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
