Please note the following:

  • WP:WPTC's guidelines on new articles. Generally a storm like this cyclone would warrant an article only after the cyclone's life is over.
  • The official warning centre never named the storm. "Yemyin", while on the official list, was only given by Pakistan. India has naming rights so the article would not be at "Cyclone Yemyin" anyway.

For now, it's been redirected. If the real Yemyin as named by India deserves an article in the future, it will get one. This storm will probably end up getting an article at Cyclone 03B (2007), its alternate name, after it dissipates. Chacor 13:44, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Mumbai2006.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Mumbai2006.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:21, 3 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move - War in Croatia

[edit]

Hi. I have requested move for "Croatian War of Independence", which in my oppinion is both innacurate in inconsistent with the title of sister Bosnian War (not called Bosnian War of Independence). I see you participated in discussion on the topic in the past - I invite you to do so here. More importantly, could you please help me and put information about this request on some Balkan/Yugoslav issues part of wiki/subroject, where relevant users will see it - I do not know where it is. Third Waziristan conflict

[edit]

Top Gun

Iraq Operations

[edit]

There are currently 3 Different lists of Iraq Operations; Iraqi coalition counter-insurgency operations(which is also somewhat POV), a chonological list and an alphabetical list. I have added a lot of operations to the alphabetical listing and have been updating it faithfully but I haven't updated the counter insurgency or the Chonological listing much. Before I do I recommend that we consider other methods. I figured out how to add a column sort function and added it to the Alphabetical listing. I recommend the other 2 articles be merged into the alphabetical listing and then we can rename the alphabetical listing to something more appropriate like Iraq Military Operations since 2003 perhaps. I added a blurb on the discussion page and recommended the merge for the chronological list and the counter insurgency operations page. You seem to do a lot with the Iraq war articles what do you think? --Kumioko 15:13, 18 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Third Waziristan conflict

[edit]

[edit]

Can you go to WP:AN and request that an admin merge the edit histories of Waziristan War and Waziristan conflict (2004–2006)? GFDL requires traceability for edits and your copy/paste move from conflict to war breaks that traceability. In the future, if you wish to move an article, please follow the instructions at WP:MOVE or post a request at WP:RM.--Bobblehead (rants) 16:26, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Waziristan War article history

[edit]

Hello.

Everything you need is now at Waziristan conflict (2004–2006), the edits from the copy and paste move and subsequent ones are you edits that occurred on 19 July. Look for what you need to re-add changes you made.

In regards to the move, the post to AN was the proper thing to do. While you editing the article under the new name, the original was based on the contribution history from the old article so that all needs to stay together. If you'd like to rename it to Waziristan War, I suggest following the directions at requested moves to gain consensus. Reading the talk page there seems to be various opinions of what to call the article.

Happy editing to you, Keegantalk 19:29, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

National Liberation War of Macedonia

Hi TheFEARgod, I created this article and I thought you could help me with POV situation because you are a member of Military history WikiProject. Several POV pushers are adding nationalist Bulgarian information and turning it into an article about ethnic historicity rather than about the conflict itself. Notability

[edit]

To be honest with you I am starting to loose interest in making updates to wikipedia because I spend so much time in debate over things like this I don't have time to make any meaningful changes. I put it out there with the information I had in the hopes that others would add more information to it or I will add more information as I find it. Either way that article as with the majority of the articles in wikipedia currently is in my agreement far from complete. Additionally, Wikipedia is packed with articles of arguable notibility anyway and what point is it to create an online compendium of human knowledge if we only write about things that are common knowledge--Kumioko 14:10, 28 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thats good to know that he is the main Mil History Coordinator, thanks, I didn't know that. With that said there were very few operations at that time and now there are a lot more. Over 1800 that I know of, but I can only find information on the internet for the ones I have on there now. I keep finding more though. Don't you think that its better to have it in a table, that you can sort based on what you need, with more info. Since most of the operations are small and per you aren't important enough to rate their own article, its nice to have the information somewere. Your changes to the Georgian-Abkhazian Conflict navigational box

[edit]

Thank you for creating the article on the 1998 war in Abkhazia, it was much needed! You also changed the navigational box for the conflict from being vertical to being horizontal. I find that this hampers navigation, because now, the timeline-like quality of the infobox is lost. In this way, the conflict infobox is similar in nature to a history of... infobox. I therefore favour changing the make-up back to how it was before. What are your thoughts? sephia karta 12:03, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, the Iraq and Lebanon templates don't list a series of incidents the way the G-A template does, and the Palestine-Israel and WoT templates do display their incidents vertically, so they appear to actually support my view that thus should happen here also. Plus that I, for one, happen to find the previous set-up much more estethicaly pleasing, and I don't think 3 templates at the side of the page is too much. sephia karta 12:49, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I don't actually mind the template being at the bottom of the article, I would be happy to have a set-up akin to the Palestine-Israel template. I strongly oppose merging this template with the other two templates though, because though related, the conflicts in question are independent of each other. Similar to how the Israel-Palestine and the Israel-Lebanon conflicts are related but still independent. sephia karta 13:01, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Cheers for the new set-up! sephia karta 13:42, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Template war on terror

[edit]

I've noticed you hidden "Iraq War" from the WoT template and added "Iraqi insurgency". Since the Iraqi insurgency isn't a conflict per se, but rather a movement and part of the Iraq War, i've reverted it promptly. Please discuss such changes in the future, that's the point of the discussion page. Cheers, --TheFEARgod

We don't care if it's a war or not. The fact is that this conflict is a major part of the war on terror, consequently it must be integrate in the template. At the opposite the irak war must not be integrated !! The war was against Sadam Hussein, not against terror. The first part of the war has consequently not link with terror, only the second part has.

Considering that as an obvious fact, I cannot see any problem with this template.... This template has been like that for months.... There is certainly some guys to say that Irak war (even Sadam Hussein part) is part of the war on terror but it'snt follow the wikipedian good faith rule and NPOV.

However I'm opened to discussion ^_^ But sources (neutral + arab + american) agree, I think, on this version. Mrpouetpouet 20:04, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A discussion is ongoing on the talk page, which currently appears to endorse a move to "List of attacks on Israeli noncombatants during the Second Intifada". Sri Lankanski gradjanski rat

[edit]

User:Top Gun —Preceding comment was added at 23:39, 15 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dodao sam u kutijicu Operation Definite Victory i Battle of Point Pedro i takodje sam napravio jos jednu pomorsku bitku i stavio je u kutijicu pod nazivom Battle of Jaffna. User:Top Gun

Uradio sam Battle of Jaffna (2006) i takodje sam uradio jos dve bitke Battle of Kilinochchi i Battle of Pooneryn i dodao operaciju Operation Pawan.

I cetvrto ako Truci napadnu severni Irak, sto sve vise izgleda da hoce, Amerikanci ce najverovatnije do odredjenog stepena biti umesani. Sta mislis?Top Gun —Preceding comment was added at 04:07, 23 October 2007 (UTC) Vec sam pogledao ta dva incidenta u Turskoj i dobro izgledaju clanci. Fair use rationale for Image:GUj.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:GUj.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Catania violence.JPG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Catania violence.JPG. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 22:49, 29 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Username concern

[edit]

Dear TheFEARgod, while I can understand how you may interpret the username you recently took to WP:RFCN, I really would suggest that instead of using something like this, you use the standard {{usernameconcern}} template, which is what should be used for names that are not blatant, obvious violations, and should be done prior to taking them to RFCN, giving the editor time to respond. I've replaced your box with this template on that user's page. The translation of the word is: ustaša would mean an insurgent, a rebel. So basically, if someone created the username "insurgent" or "rebel", that's not a violation of the username policy. Unless the editor is doing some obvious POV edits, or other activity that would be unacceptable, without knowing the editor's reasons, it is best not to jump to conclusions. I don't want you to think I accept username violations, as I don't, but I really would encourage you to take a look at how that box you placed might come across to someone who had no knowledge of your interpretation of the name, and to see how the standard template is a bit more friendly. Please don't be upset with me, but I do think it important to welcome new users with questionable names, as that helps to open a dialog and doesn't put them on the defensive immediately. Hope you understand! ArielGold 00:22, 7 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

TheFEARgod, I am asking you yet again to stop. Doing something like this is not helpful, as I mentioned, I would really encourage you to stop placing banners like that, and use the {{usernameconcern}} template. You can not just edit another editor's userpage because you are personally offended by the name. Leave a usernameconcern, allow them time to respond, and then take it to WP:RFCN for discussion, that is the proper way to handle non-obvious username concerns, not by tagging their page with a denigrating banner. Please review the policies and guidelines, Thanks. ArielGold 18:38, 10 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I will upload them, as soon as I arrive in Osijek (tomorrow evening).

Will update them ASAP...

Pozdrav,

—Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.207.57.177 (talk) 00:48, 24 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I wanted to let you know that I have reverted your recent edits to User talk:Catalyst in Society.

User:Catalyst in Society recently twice blanked his talk page, with second edit comment claiming Right to Vanish. You restored, then archived his talk page contents. edited to change username per right to vanish. Coppertwig (talk) 03:05, 16 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

He noted his desire to vanish on Jimbo Wales talk page.[1]. His user page was deleted per this request.

Please note the following:

  • Wikipedia:Talk_page_guidelines#User_talk_pages — Though archiving is preferred, "Policy does not prohibit users from removing comments from their own talk pages".
  • Wikipedia:Don't restore removed comments — "If an editor removes a comment from their talk page, whether the comment is legitimate or not, do not add the comment back again. Respect their wishes." Note, after you restored the talk page contents, the user again blanked his talk page.

The editor has the right to delete the contents of his/her talk page and the creation of a talk page archive, without the user's request, is counter to the above guidelines. As such, I have again blanked his page, consistent with the user request and above noted guidelines. — ERcheck (talk) 20:49, 24 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Vittorio Sgarbi

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Vittorio Sgarbi requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Vaziristan

[edit]

966 vojnika - 1+42+521 = 402 vojnika tokom prve faze.
