Hello, Vycl1994,

This article you created was just moved to a new page title and I wanted to check and see if this is accurate to you. I know nothing about this article subject but the name seems different enough from the original page title that I think a review is warranted. Unfortunately, my language skills don't allow me to double-check the sources you have provided. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 22:40, 13 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the note @Liz:! When viewing the history of the page, I noticed that the page mover first edited the page to remove one of the only online English language sources I could find. The now-removed English citation used the old page title to refer to the article subject, and I am not able to find other English language sources that use the article's current title. Although I am aware that no one editor owns an article, I would suggest restoring the English source to the page, and reversing the recent page move. American politician stubs[edit]

Please remember to use the proper date format (MDY) as specified in MOS:DATETIES. The articles should also use more than just the state's directory, as they aren't going to have a fair analysis of their careers. SounderBruce 00:20, 4 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Amy S. Thompson requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Your edit summary reads: Huh; unsourced? see https://thisisbeirut.com.lb/lebanon/209644 https://thisisbeirut.com.lb/lebanon/209644 and https://icibeyrouth.com/liban/297680 These are the sources cited at Mohammad Youssef Beydoun, and they state that Mohammad Youssef Beydoun's tenure in the same portfolio was between December 1990 to 1992, and Muhammad Baydoun held the position for some months in 1992.

But giving them in the edit summary doesn't mean that your edition is sourced. You must add these sources to the page. Maybe my note would be useful for you to understand the rules. Egeymi (talk) 08:20, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The first two sources are the same and there's no reference to Muhammad Baydoun. The third one is a dead reference. So you're using your reasoning instead of citing a reliable source. --Egeymi (talk) 08:24, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hey @Egeymi: The sources covering Mohammad Youssef Beydoun's career are correctly cited at Mohammad Youssef Beydoun article, and they are as I listed in the edit summary in my most recent edit summary at Muhammad Baydoun. So Mohammad Youssef Beydoun's ministerial tenure is appropriately sourced in the Mohammad Youssef Beydoun article, and the ministerial tenure of Muhammad Beydoun is properly sourced in the article about Muhammad Baydoun. It isn't an unsourced claim, the sources for each politician are just included on different pages, because they are different people.
I do acknowledge copy and pasting the same source one too many times in my edit summary at Muhammad Baydoun, but the sources I meant to refer to are 1 2 and 3, and all are cited as references at the Mohammad Youssef Beydoun article. None are dead links, or at least I can view them. 1 covers Mohammad Youssef Beydoun's return to the Lebanese cabinet in 1998, and mentions his previous governmental posts, and 2 and 3 are the same obituary, published in French and English. The obituataries give more precise dates of Mohammad Youssef Beydoun's ministerial service. We already know the dates of Muhammad Baydoun's ministerial stint, because those details are cited in the Muhammad Baydoun article.
An example: Kwame Raoul succeeded Barack Obama as an Illinois state senator, and that information appears in the Barack Obama officeholder infobox and succession box, but is not directly mentioned or sourced in the Barack Obama article body. However, if you visit the Kwame Raoul article, you will see sources that describe Raoul as the appointed successor in the Illinois Senate after Obama took office in the US Senate. Just because Raoul is not otherwise mentioned with a source in Obama's article doesn't mean that Raoul's succession is unsourced, because the appropriate sources are included at Raoul's own article. The same applies with the similarly named Lebanese politicians discussed here. Vycl1994 (talk) 08:40, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
