October 2017[edit]

There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Alex ShihTalk 08:07, 9 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Requested username:

Request reason:

I understand why the account was blocked and the page "World Patriarchal Maronite Foundation for Integral Development - WPF" deleted. I intend to create a new account using my personal email address to try and submit the Foundation article once again. Is it possible to send me a copy of our first draft/submission? I would really appreciate not having to start again from scratch. Please understand that this is our very first attempt using Wikipedia, and I was only now notified about the account related problem. Thank you for your time and help, Mandy.

Decline reason:

You state "Please understand that this is our very first attempt using Wikipedia". This indicates that your account is being used by more than one person or on behalf of an organisation, neither of which is permitted. At the moment you seem only to wish to promote your organisation so I don't see how an unblock would benefit the encyclopaedia. You need to show that you understand WP:ORG, WP:COI, WP:PAID and that you propose to write an objective article. Showing that you intend to contribute to the broader Project would also help your case.Just Chilling (talk) 16:34, 10 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • I have done the rename (from User:WPMFoundation), and I'll leave someone else to review your unblock request. If you wish to continue to write about your organization, you must familiarize yourself with, and adhere to, Wikipedia's conflcit of interest guidlines (described at WP:COI). I'm not convinced you really understand the problem with your first draft - it was written in the kind of promotional way you might expect an organization to write about itself, not the way a disinterested third party might write it. Anyway, I have temporarily restored it for you at User:MandySemaan/WPF - please take a copy of it and store it on your own computer, and when you have done that it will be deleted from here again (as it is not apppropriate in its current form).
