Wikipedia:WikiProject Policy and Guidelines/Draft proposal: Admin training with sponsorship

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Add an optional sponsorship program for admin trainees and apprentices[edit]

Formalize/establish a program in which qualified volunteers may approach willing administrators as potential sponsors for admin coaching/training. Trainees would be responsible to their mentors and be willing to accept conditions set by the sponsor for activity and judgement. Successful trainees become their sponsor's apprentices, perhaps on a path toward RFA.

draft below here

In order to improve the candidate's skills and confidence, establish a sponsorship program in which admins and permitted non-admins acquire one or more administrator pre-apprenticeship sponsees/trainees. Trainees would be responsible to their mentors and be willing to accept conditions set by the sponsor for activity and judgement. Successful trainees become their sponsor's apprentices, under the watchful eye of the entire community. Apprentices are nominated by their own sponsor (and one co-sponsor) for RfA. Unsuccessful RfA apprentices may choose to continue their apprenticeship.
