**Original** – Nymphaea odorata (Fragrant Water Lily) ssp. tuberosa with it's pads, a bud, and duckweed

Reason: This image offers a superb technical view of the species, objectively meeting criteria 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8, and it readily illustrates the unopened blossom, the plant's leaves, and the flower's petals, sepals, and stamens.
