Margate F.C. Margate F.C. seasons - Hartsdown Park

Self nomination I am nominating the above set of articles for Featured Topic status. The main article on the club itself is a Featured Article, their season-by-season playing record is a Featured List, and the article on their stadium is a Good Article. I feel that between these articles a reader gets a full and complete overview of the club and its history, and feel there are no obvious gaps in this group of articles. • Comment What about a list of players/managers like most other football clubs? Woody (talk) 21:41, 19 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
    • I would have no objection to creating such articles but, as the vast majority of people involved would not be notable by WP standards (e.g. only 8 out of 30 managers in the club's history and only 4 out of the club's top 20 appearance-making players are eligible for WP articles), would such lists be warranted in the first place? Also, does the fact that many other clubs have such an article necessarily make the fact that Margate don't have them an "obvious gap" in the treatment of the subject? • That is a fair point, but to me they are core articles for a football club. I accept that it won't have separate history articles, but a list of managers is almost a must. I accept that the players might be notable. I'm playing Devil's Advocate here because I can see a time when a bigger club such as Manchester United/Liverpool/Arsenal have a full set of articles i.e. Club, Stadium, Players, Manager, Seasons and a History article (or two). Then, we would get questions and reviews into why this topic did not have those articles. Woody (talk) 22:35, 19 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment - I'm with Woody on this one. Compared to the array of articles that most of the bigger football clubs have, the group of articles being nominated here just isn't copious enough and doesn't cover all possible aspects of the club. – PeeJay 23:27, 19 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
