Like with categories. An admin moved Category:Phreaking Boxes to Category:Phreaking boxes. He/she then copied the previous history onto Category talk:Phreaking boxes. Hbdragon88 08:01, 30 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That's a pretty clumsy solution, and it means that the previous versions of the image are not available. It would be better if we keep both images around until there's a way to merge the two histories together, so that we can see that the image started off as a PNG, was converted to an SVG, and so on. Server space is not a problem, and there's an {{obsolete}} tag on the PNG that points to the SVG, so no one should accidentally use the PNG anywhere. —Bkell (talk) 17:56, 30 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know. It does reduce the evidence that we have that the SVG is actually GFDLed, though: If someone questions the GFDL claim, all we have is the SVG uploader's statement that the SVG was a modification of a previously existing GFDLed work, but we can't produce that previous image, nor any kind of proof that it was indeed GFDLed. —Bkell (talk) 15:41, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
