New page reviewer

As an AFC reviewer, article creator, and AFD stalker, I believe that I'm experienced enough to try and help reduce the backlog of new pages. Tavantius (talk) 19:06, 20 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Done for 1 month as a trial run, after which you may reapply. signed, Rosguill talk 16:31, 23 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

My trial NPP rights expired. Hopefully I did ok (probably could have done more haha, just got busy). Would like to keep helping with the backlog PARAKANYAA (talk) 03:17, 22 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Done, track record looks good. signed, Rosguill talk 16:34, 23 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

My temporary NPP rights expired two days ago and I'd like to gain access once more. Rusty 🐈 16:32, 22 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Done for another month: work thus far looks fine, but relatively few article reviews were conducted in the first trial. Reviewing redirects is also important, but when evaluating editors' readiness for this permission, we focus on article reviews as these are more complicated and difficult. signed, Rosguill talk 16:37, 23 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I am interested in technology, basic science, public health, global health, global health diplomacy, foreign policy, public policy and science and technology. I am also interested in African history and history of science and look forward to editing and updating Wikipedia posts in these areas. I also enjoy copy editing articles and adding research on Wikipedia. Trex32 (talk) 01:26, 23 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not done. Sorry, but you do not meet the requirements listed at WP:NPRCRITERIA, as you do not have 500 undeleted edits to mainspace. Hey man im josh (talk) 12:56, 23 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I came here to request that my NPP rights be made permanent. Keep in mind that the two-month trial is set to expire on October 4th, which is less than two weeks from now. I'll be extremely busy for the remainder of this month, next month and the month thereafter, so today is probably the best time to make this request. Thanks for your understanding, Wolverine XI (talk to me) 19:14, 23 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Having reviewed your track record, I unfortunately cannot justify extending permissions. Easily more than half of your review decisions are questionable, and appear to have been making notability assessments based on the presence of mere mentions, not significant coverage of the subject. I'm further concerned by your pace of work, averaging an article review per minute--this is nowhere near enough time to properly evaluate edge cases.  Not done. signed, Rosguill talk 13:28, 24 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Rosguill, can you provide examples of where Easily more than half of your review decisions are questionable, and appear to have been making notability assessments based on the presence of mere mentions, not significant coverage of the subject. I want to see where I went wrong. Wolverine XI (talk to me) 13:42, 24 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
In roughly chronological order from the point where I'm currently re-reviewing your work: Basket Landes, 2025 UCI World Tour, Peter Krasinski filmography all lack citations to independent reliable sources, Elliott Hill cites nothing about Hill outside the context of Nike and thus should probably be a redirect to the company, Albert M. Muchanga and Lindsay Merrithew lack significant coverage of the subject in independent sources, at Midhun Eravil and Hali Anastopoulo you ignored clear signs of paid editing by the initial editor, Patrick Gamble (footballer) appears to be heading toward deletion at AfD, at Emma Unson Rotor you ignored clear signs of COI, Tzar Gidul Banim cites sources of questionable reliability and depth...in assembling this list of examples, I've skipped over various other articles that also seemed questionable but which would have required at least 5-10 min of digging through the sources to confirm one way or another. signed, Rosguill talk 14:03, 24 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough. No complaints from me. Wolverine XI (talk to me) 15:49, 24 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have been active in AfD, AfC, and I patrolled pages back in the day before this was a specific user right. Having it again will help me in the AfC and recent changes queue. cyberdog958Talk 22:56, 23 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Done, past work pre-2017 looks solid, and recent AfD experience also looks good. signed, Rosguill talk 16:31, 24 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Howdy. Been making a lot of new pages recently and seeing them reviewed by others has made me think I should get in on this and give back a bit. ~Darth StabroTalk/Contribs 02:18, 24 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Reason for requesting new page reviewer rights 79lives (talk) 09:44, 24 September 2024 (UTC) I want to alleviate the backlog for people and I have tried contributing to copy editing as well as read WP:NOTABILITY to show which articles could be under the risk of deletion! As soon as I joined Wikipedia I saw a lot of articles without any citations which I would help with. I am also able to identify orphans and unreferenced articles.[reply]

Not done, about 20 days ago your last request was declined with a recommendation that you should do more work at AfD. The two comments you made there since then do not suggest a strong understanding of relevant policies and guidelines. I'll also note that each of your NPR applications have included some statement to the effect of wanting to do copy-editing and help rescue articles at risk of deletion--you do not need NPR permissions to do such work. signed, Rosguill talk 16:37, 24 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
