Template editor

Hello, I'm working to make templates dark mode friendly, but since many templates are protected, I'm requesting template editor to efficiently implement dark mode compatibility. I've successfully made more than five template-protected edit requests so far (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6), and I'd love to be able to make such edits myself without the need to provide an edit request in the future. I'm a trusted user, and I'd be more than happy to assist at CAT:ETP too. Thank you, Waqar💬 06:56, 13 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Done for six months for the purposes of dark mode adjustments. Primefac (talk) 11:54, 13 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Are you suggesting that Iwaqarhashmi should only use this for right for dark mode related edits? — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 10:47, 14 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No, but that is their primary purpose as requested. As I explained on their talk page, it's a temporary grant because that is their focus and interest, but if they do find themselves editing in the template-protected spaces more often they are welcome to request an indefinite extension. My apologies to all for not being clearer in my initial statement. Primefac (talk) 10:49, 14 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I'd say I was a bit confused when I first saw that I was granted these rights on a temporary basis even though I fulfilled all the standard guidelines. Honestly, improving protected templates for dark mode adjusments wasn't the only reason why I requested template editor. As I explained on my talk page earlier, I was infact, hoping to use it for other long-term purposes as well, but no one asked me about that in the first place. Would it be possible to request an indefinite extension now since I'd be needing this for the long haul? Thank you! Waqar💬 14:49, 14 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Iwaqarhashmi a couple weeks before you expire just drop a new request here - we generally upgrade requesters to indefinite if they have (a) used the access (b) not broken things. — xaosflux Talk 15:06, 14 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
