If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.

- To list a technical request: Uncontroversial technical requests subsection and insert the following code at the bottom of the list, filling in pages and reason:
This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.{{subst:RMassist|current page title|new title|reason=edit summary for the move}}
the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.

[edit]- 2026 Cricket World Cup Qualifier (currently a redirect to 2027 Cricket World Cup qualification) → 2027 Cricket World Cup Qualifier (currently a redirect instead to 2027 Cricket World Cup qualification) (move · discuss) – In order to preserve the page history along with the indefinite extended confirmed protection level. - @Vestrian24Bio Just to be sure, is the intent to swap the 2026 redirect with the 2027 one? I've been scratching my head over this one, unless you were looking to do a history merge? There usually isn't a point to swapping redirects, if it's just the history we were concerned about, we'd hist merge it into the target article, if it were the protection, we can request protection on the second one, otherwise both redirects already have the same target. - I also noticed you're working on Draft:2027 Cricket World Cup Qualifier, if the intent is to clean up the targets to publish that eventually, you can request a move here when it's ready and then you can request a history merge after (as well as protection) if you need help with those steps I wouldn't mind, when the article is ready for publishing. - It's the protection for the redirect that I'm concerned about. Vestrian24Bio (TALK) 00:07, 10 August 2024 (UTC)

- Marchitecture → Marketecture (currently a redirect back to Marchitecture) (move · discuss) – Based on both Google hits and Google Ngrams, the spelling "marketecture" is significantly more common than "marchitecture" Sharpner (talk 19:41, 9 August 2024 (UTC)
- Elie (given name) → Elie (currently a redirect instead to Elie and Earlsferry) (move · discuss) – The given name is the primary topic, not a town that is now called Elie and Earlsferry. An alternative is to move Elie (disambiguation) to Elie. Clarityfiend (talk) 02:38, 10 August 2024 (UTC)
- User:Telos (Zedd album) → Telos (Zedd album) (currently a redirect instead to Zedd) (move · discuss) – I accidentally clicked 'user' instead of 'article' when moving something from my sandbox to mainspace. Cadenrock1 5:20, 10 August 2024 (UTC)
- Peptidyl transferase → Peptidyl transferase center (currently a redirect instead to Ribosome) (move · discuss) – I recently reworked this page and I find that most recent articles in the field use the term "peptidyl transferase center" over "peptidyl transferase". I also don't think the redirect makes sense since there is an entire article on the subject, and the section it redirects to only mentions the PTC in passing. - Women's Asian Volleyball Championship → Asian Women's Volleyball Championship (currently a redirect back to Women's Asian Volleyball Championship) (move · discuss) – All recent search results from Google refers to the competition as Asian Women's Volleyball Championship not the current article title. 98𝚃𝙸𝙶𝙴𝚁𝙸𝚄𝚂 • [𝚃𝙰𝙻𝙺] 08:17, 10 August 2024 (UTC)
- Judiciary of the Republic of Serbia → Judiciary of Serbia (currently a redirect instead to Politics of Serbia) (move · discuss) – it is more appropriate as all pages about judiciaries of the European countries use shorter country name, e.g. Judicicary of France (not French Republic), Judiciary of Germany (not the Federal Republic of Germany), Judiciary of Croatia (nor Judiciary of the Republic of Croatia) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Klačko (talk • contribs)
