If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.

- Ordre des Arts et des Lettres → Order of Arts and Letters (currently a redirect back to Ordre des Arts et des Lettres) (move · discuss) – Per WP:CRITERIA; the Order is more commonly referred to as "Order of Arts and Letters" in English-language sources. Zoolver (talk) 23:10, 12 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Zoolver: Google Ngrams shows about twice as much use in English-language books of the French name than the English translation, and I didn't see a preference for the English version in a news search. SilverLocust 💬 04:08, 13 October 2024 (UTC)
- All the English-language sources from the past 10 years listed in the article use the English name, "Order of Arts and Letters", such as Variety, Deadline, Columbia Press University, Canada's CTV News (which has an order with the same name), and Billboard. Google often reflects what Wikipedia shows. Even the news articles that use the French title usually have it followed by the English translation. This article was created 20 years ago and to this day it still is a little more than a stub that was poorly sourced. So is it better to just leave the French title on the English-language Wikipedia and ignore all the recent sources calling it by the English name even in headlines? Zoolver (talk) 21:48, 13 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Zoolver: Google Ngrams shows usage in English-language books (including in years before Wikipedia existed). "All the English-language sources from the past 10 years listed in the article" (referring to a string of refs that you added yesterday) is even more dependent on "what Wikipedia shows" than Google is; for example, I have added a couple citations for the other name, so it is no longer the case. On a further check, I'll acknowledge that I tend to see more news results for the proposed title. Still, this is a potentially controversial move and would require a discussion, which you can begin by clicking "discuss" on your request. SilverLocust 💬 23:43, 13 October 2024 (UTC)

- CrossOver (software) → CrossOver (currently a redirect back to CrossOver (software)) (move · discuss) – Disambiguation is not required since "CrossOver" is often related to the compatibility software. Draheinsunvale (talk) 21:48, 13 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Draheinsunvale: This could be controversial as the current disambiguation page for this title is Crossover, so the alternative casing name of CrossOver could be confusing and most other articles at that DAB use parenthetical disambiguation for that reason. While technically we allow it in some cases, this has to be handled on a case-by-case basis. You may want to raise a formal RM discussion for this and include the DAB page as a notified page to get more feedback on your proposal. Raladic (talk) 23:11, 13 October 2024 (UTC)

- @Hyphenation Expert No. Before 2011, it was Tamara (name); then it was moved by the admin Rosguill, which you had reverted without any discussion. - Yikes. Rosguill performed the controversial, undiscussed move (13 years-long title is status quo), which I reverted - so that's the point a RM discussion is required. You reintroduced a controversial move. Hyphenation Expert (talk) 09:46, 14 October 2024 (UTC)

Move wars are disruptive, so if you make a bold move and it is reverted, do not make the move again. Instead, follow the procedures laid out in § Requesting controversial and potentially controversial moves

- robertsky, I have no strong opinions one way or another on this question and am bemused that this has become such a point of contention. I will note that MOS:APO doesn't really cover the current situation explicitly--its guidance related to disambiguators is
if another article exists with the same title and the name article is not the primary article
, which doesn't clearly apply here as the longterm status quo has been a disambiguation page at Tamara, not an article. signed, Rosguill talk 12:34, 14 October 2024 (UTC)

Google ngrams shows a preference in the last 30 years for "Isa Ibrahim", but I'm not sure if there are other individuals by that name that might be getting picked up (although the trend for "Isa Ibrahim" starts before Andrew Ibrahim was born).--Ahecht (TALK

- @Ahecht: To my knowledge, the only other biography with this similar name is Andrew Ibrahim. Additionally, the redirection from Isa Ibrahim was initially made for Andrew, but was later changed to Isa. There could be other people in the world with that same name but might not be notable enough to have an article written about them. Bruneian news website tend not to exclude the individual's status and rank therefore it could be used as it does not fit the standardization naming convention of Malay names on Wikipedia. An example would be Anwar Ibrahim. Pangalau (talk) 13:32, 15 October 2024 (UTC)
