[edit]
The following discussion is an archived debate of the proposed deletion of the template below. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page (such as the template's talk page or in a deletion review).

The result of the discussion was WP:SNOW delete. All 6 !votes (including nom) are delete. Template only links to 2 pages: the club and the club's 2012–13 season. (non-admin closure) Luis150902 (talk | contribs) 19:44, 21 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

No navigational use, contains only two links - and one of them is a redirect to the other. Jellyman (talk) 22:02, 13 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Note: This discussion has been included in WikiProject Football's list of association football-related deletions. Hhhhhkohhhhh (talk) 10:57, 14 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This kind of information belongs in an article, not a navbox. This reads more like a resume/CV than a tool to provide useful navigation. --woodensuperman 11:29, 5 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete – the articles do not related sufficiently to each other as required for a navbox topic. Musician navboxes for an individual should relate to their own solo works, not a list of disparate groups and their albums on which the individual happens to appear. Jellyman (talk) 11:48, 5 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Thank you Jellyman and woodensuperman for pointing me in the right direction on this as I'm still learning. I updated the navbox to better reflect his solo works, guest appearances and musical associations. I would appreciate any further feedback! Ripplechris (talk) 14:56, 5 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
As he has no solo releases, the resultant template still suffers from the same issues. I've trimmed it further and all we are left with is a list of bands he's been a member of. It needs to be deleted I'm afraid. --woodensuperman 15:02, 5 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Why is his solo drumming video and music releases on which he's guested (as an individual) not relevant in this case? I used other artist navbox examples for inspiration (e.g. Trey Anastasio and Dave Matthews) Ripplechris (talk) 15:15, 5 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
There isn't an article for the drumming video. And releases which he guested on would be dealt with at the individual navbox of that artist. We shouldn't start listing every guest appearance of every musician on an album, etc. --woodensuperman 15:17, 5 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Though there is not an article for the drumming video I still think there is value in this info for fans. I'm willing to put in the work to make this navbox valuable and compliant. Is there a page that details what constitutes the correct content structure for an individual musician navbox? Thanks! Ripplechris (talk) 15:24, 5 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
We do not have unlinked items in navboxes, as there is nothing to navigate (see WP:EXISTING). No specific guideline other than WP:NAVBOX, but it would not be possible to make this navbox "compliant" as there are no solo releases to link, so the closest you'll get is the current version, which is just a list of bands he was a member of. --woodensuperman 15:28, 5 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
As already stated, this navbox isn't really fixable as the individual in question doesn't have a solo career, he's a contributor to various groups / albums. A music navbox is normally for a group or an individual with multiple releases under their own name, so the linked articles are more strongly related to each other. The WP:NAVBOX will help you to understand how navboxes are supposed to work generally, and what topics they are or aren't appropriate for. In this case, information on what groups Castronovo has been part of and what albums he has played on are absolutely useful facts about him to include in his article; but as they aren't his own releases etc., they don't relate closely enough to each other to be useful as a navbox. I hope this makes some sense! Jellyman (talk) 15:50, 5 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was merge to Template:Public art in the United States. Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 23:00, 24 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Propose merging Template:Public art in Washington, D.C. with Template:Public art in the United States.
Currently, all of the links in the Washington, D.C. template are displayed in the United States template. No need for duplication. --Another Believer (Talk) 13:58, 13 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
