Two women weep at a Ghanian funeral
Two women weep at a funeral. Although sad, it is not the job of Wikipedians to console them.

Sometimes, friends and family of someone whose death was in some way covered on Wikipedia will go to the article that documents it and soften the blow of, or even remove the information about the death. Although unfortunate, and our condolences go out to you, Wikipedia is not here to console your feelings. Wikipedia is here to deliver neutral, reliable information. Doing this directly violates the neutral point of view policy, the disruptive editing policy, and, in a way, the no original research policy.

Examples[edit]

  • [1] to [2] at Dixon's Chimney and Shaddon Mill - It appears a loved one of the victim described in the article thought the information of the death was disrespectful. "This information is disrespectful to family and doesn’t need to be on here," they said. Sincerely, Key of G Minor. Tools: (talk, contribs) 17:03, 27 June 2023 (UTC)
