Naming conventions proposal[edit]

I propose that we create a naming convention for articles about strikes. The convention should be "Year Location Industry strike." For example, Boston cigar makers' strike of 1919 would become 1919 Boston cigar makers' strike. There is a wide variety of names for articles on strikes and I think having a convention would create uniformity and clarity. Thoughts?--User:Namiba 16:29, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Namiba this is already covered by Wikipedia:Naming conventions (events). For a few years, every now and then I move articles of this type. Be good to have another comrade at the mill. :) Regards, Goldsztajn (talk) 06:43, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
BTW - see this 2021 discussion we had on apostrophes in article titles ... into the weeds we go! Regards, Goldsztajn (talk) 06:48, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

😂 That's honestly a perfect representation of the admonition: "don't look inside the sausage factory". Regards, Goldsztajn (talk) 02:16, 27 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Under the "Summary of legislation by jurisdiction" section for Right to sit in the United States, I have largely filled in the chart. However, some states are incomplete and lack information for when the laws were made gender-neutral or repealed. It can be difficult to search law codes, particularly if looking for repealed laws. Assistance from editors knowledgeable about US law codes would be appreciated. Thank you! Bohemian Baltimore (talk) 02:48, 12 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Anti-union activists?[edit]

I'm considering creating an article for people who are known anti-union activists, such as those promoting right-to-work laws and union busting. Any thoughts on what they should be called? Union busting activists? Anti-union activists? Union busters?--User:Namiba 16:21, 25 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Namiba would this be more akin to a list of notable anti-trade unionists? I also think a list of organisations (law firms, think tanks, political parties) notable for anti-trade union activity could be interesting. Regards, Goldsztajn (talk) 02:09, 27 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Goldsztajn, I was thinking something like that and an accompanying article. I started Category:Strikebreakers and we also have Category:Anti-union sentiment. We also have Anti-union organizations in the United States which could be merged/expanded to have a more global approach.--User:Namiba 14:52, 27 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
