HDI is incorrect[edit]

The HDI given for Iran does not match the source, which should be 0.798, "high".

"A proloynged and gradual process of..." should be "A prolonged and gradual process of...".

This spelling mistake is in the "Mediaeval period and Iranian Intermezzo" section. Samuel Christy (talk) 02:04, 28 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

"It possess the world's 14th strongest military." should be "It possesses the world's 14th strongest military."

This is in the Military subsection. Samuel Christy (talk) 15:55, 30 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Propaganda for the Iranian government[edit]

While Iran's economy has collapsed and absolute poverty in the country has reached 85% and people cannot afford to buy milk or bread, this article shows Iran as an economic superpower. It also has strange references to ancient knowledge and technologies! In the military sector and judicial system, Iran is shown as a free country with acceptable voting! It is interesting to me how many novice users were able to do this in a few months with this article. They turned Wikipedia into a propaganda site for the Iranian government. Excellent! Can you guys please, at least mention human rights in the country?! They are killing women and children just because they not wearing hijab. FreeZoneF (talk) 01:25, 4 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Human rights violations are already mentioned, and as you have linked there is an article here on that. This is about Iran which has a very long history dating a couple thousand years before the US was created. And there exists a large amount of fault to go around on their current circumstances. O3000, Ret. (talk) 01:42, 4 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

1- The economic data are facts by the IMF, all well-sourced.

2- Human rights violations are already mentioned both at the top of the article, and on the human rights section.

3- How people of a country with a 0.780 HDI "cannot afford to buy milk or bread"?

If you have an editing request, make a reasonable one. Wikipedia is not a place to just complain...

Reverted trim[edit]

This paragraph was removed [1],l it is brief and well referenced. I agree details should go into a child article, but a mention of it here with a wikilink to a more detailed article should be kept.  // Timothy :: talk  23:33, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Executions[edit]

Iran executed at least 834 people in 2023, a 43 percent increase compared to 2022, according to the annual report by Iran Human Rights (IHRNGO) and Together Against the Death Penalty (ECPM) 2A00:A041:3723:7A00:8097:F5AD:2B1D:1FC3 (talk) 14:53, 21 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
