The 2024 Reigate and Banstead Borough Council election took place on 2 May 2024 to elect members of Reigate and Banstead Borough Council in Surrey, England.[1] This was on the same day as other local elections.

The council remained under no overall control following the election.[2]

Background[edit]

The council has been under no overall control since 2024, when the Conservative Councillor Zelanie Cooper stepped away from the party.[3]

The first elections to the council were held in 1973, initially operating as a shadow authority alongside the outgoing authorities until the new arrangements came into effect on 1 April 1974. Political control of the council since 1974 has been as follows:[4][5]

Party in control Years
Conservative 1974–1991
No overall control 1991–2000
Conservative 2000–2024
