Achilleas Dimitriades (born 1961, Nicosia) is a Cypriot lawyer, who is one of the 12 candidates for President of Cyprus in the 2023 Cypriot presidential election.[1][2][3]

He is the son of Lellos Dimitriades, who served as Mayor of Nicosia and a Member of Parliament in the Nicosia Electoral District elected with the Patriotic Front.[4]

Professional career[edit]

From 2002 to 2006, he was a member of the EU Network of Independent Experts on Fundamental Rights.

From 2007 to 2009, he was the president of the Cyprus-American Business Association (CY.A.B.A).

Between 2015 and 2022, he served as President of the Human Rights Committee of the Cyprus Bar Association.

Since 2018, he has been the president of the Welfare Fund of the School for the Deaf.[1]

Political career[edit]

In February 2022, he officially announced his independent candidacy for the 2023 Cypriot presidential election.[5]
