The Angaraes Province is one of seven provinces located in the Huancavelica Region of Peru. The capital of this province is the city of Lircay.

Ethnic groups[edit]

The people in the province are mainly Indigenous citizens of Quechua descent. Quechua is the language which the majority of the population (78.63%) learnt to speak in childhood, 21.12% of the residents started speaking using the Spanish language (2007 Peru Census).[1]
