Barat, is one of the most important villages in Bannu District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.It is because of the historical site of the Akra which is also known as the Ancient Capital of Bannu.
Tribes in Barat[edit]
Subtribes of Umarkhel, Shodikhel, Mamakhel Banuchis along with many other subtribes of Banuchi (Shitaks) reside there. But historically Umarkhel Bannuzai(Shitak) are the most dominant among these subtribes of Banuchis.
