Barry Gough (born March, 1973) is a British entrepreneur, businessman, and former mechanic best known for founding Memento Exclusives, also known as BG Sports Enterprises Limited and The Memento Group, a sports memorabilia company based in Bugbrooke, Northamptonshire, England.[1][2] Gough began his career as a mechanical engineer in Formula One at the age of 21.[3] He owns labels F1 Authentics, UFC Collectibles and MotoGP Authentics.

Career[edit]

Gough is the founder and CEO of Memento Exclusives, a sports memorabilia retailer that sells used, upcycled, and re-engineered car parts and other aftermarket sporting items and original memorabilia.[2]

Gough began his career as a mechanical engineer with Reynard Racing in 1989 where he built Vauxhall Lotus and Formula 3 cars. During the 1990s, Gough worked with Formula 1 (F1) as a race car mechanic, collaborating with prominent teams such as Simtek, Jordan Grand Prix, and British American Racing.[4][3][5]

Philanthropy[edit]

Gough is known for his philanthropic activity through Memento Exclusive's involvement in charity auctions. In 2023, an F1 Authentics auction raised £245,000 for relief aid as response to the 2023 Emilia-Romagna flood disaster.[6] In the same year, Gough helped to organize an auction of Max Verstappen's race suit to raise funds for the Wings for Life Foundation.[7]
