The Salzburg Slate Alps (German: Salzburger Schieferalpen), are a mountain range in the Northern Limestone Alps in the Eastern Alps of Europe. They are located in the Austrian state of Salzburg.
The boundary for the region is based on the definition of the Eastern Alps and its subdivision into individual ranges according to the Alpine Club classification of the Eastern Alps (AVE). By this definition the Kitzbühel Alps are bounded by the line: Saalfelden -- Urslau -- Hintertal -- Filzen Saddle -- Dienten Saddle -- Trockenbach -- Mühlbach -- Salzach to the mouth of the Fritzbach -- Fritzbach -- Martinsbach -- St. Martin -- Karbach -- Lungötz -- Neubach -- Linbach -- Fritzbach -- Marchegg Saddle -- Warme Mandling -- Kalte Mandling -- Schildlehenbach -- Ramsaubach -- Weißenbach -- Enns to the mouth of the Litzlingbach -- Litzlingbach -- Wagrainer Höhe -- Wagrainer Bach -- Salzach to Bruck -- Zeller See -- Saalach to Saalfelden[1].
