Category:Tertiary igneous petrology

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Igneous petrology of the Tertiary period (65 million years ago to 1.8 million years ago). The Tertiary is increasingly a deprecated term, having been more recently split by scientists into the Paleogene period with the two most recent epochs reallotted to the Neogene period, but the Tertiary is still used occasionally especially in older igneous petrology texts, sometimes without specifying the epoch or time span.
