Does this category include piston aicraft with auxiliary jets, propeller aircraft with auxilliary jets (thus including turboprops), or any aircraft including jets (such as the Trident 3B)? Andy Dingley (talk) 19:13, 4 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The definition is propeller-driven aircraft that use jet engines for takeoff/combat boost. I'll add that to the category head. - The Bushranger One ping only 20:01, 4 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I think there's actually some scope for the Trident in here (the four-engined variant at least). AFAIK, it's the only jet aircraft with an auxiliary jet engine like this (excluding VTOL) and it's closer to the Shackleton etc. with pure take-off jets than it is different. Hmm. Is a bit of a grey area. Probably should be included though since it is a "takeoff/emergency use only" engine... - The Bushranger One ping only 23:06, 4 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Would this simplify the whole scope problem? We can still have a further category(s) for the jets, the VTOLs, the Trident and the rocket interceptors. Andy Dingley (talk) 09:58, 30 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Since the prior discussion the scope issue has already been resolved, and the category is now for all aircraft with auxiliary jet engines (i.e. Trident, Yak-141, etc.). - The Bushranger One ping only 15:56, 30 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Won't somebody think of the readers?
What's most readable for new readers though? The B36 and the Shackleton have a lot in common, the Yak-141 rather less so. Andy Dingley (talk) 16:03, 30 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
